(It is very important to note that only a verylow number of Under 12 age group cricketers are eligible to play open agecricket. Mark 1/2 if the pitch is so poor there was a possibility the game might not proceed
Mark 3/4 if the Pitch does not meeting Ground Quality of Division:
  1. no evidence pitch covered previous 24 hours;
  2. previously used pitch not in reasonable condition; lack of preparation; e.g. protected areas showed wear & tear.
  3. pitch incorrectly marked and/or not defined.
Mark 5/6 -Meets Ground Quality of division:
  1. evidence pitch covered previous 24 hours;
  2. previously used pitch in acceptable condition;
  3. pitch defined & marked correctly;
  4. pitch dry, firm & safe.
Mark 7/8 if in addition to the this
  1. previously used pitch in good condition with old footholds repaired and firm
Mark 9/10 if in addition to this
  1. the pitch is new, defined & marked correctly;
  2. the square is well defined from outfield;

  1. Pitch generally low and slow but of firm surface with even grass cover.
  2. Pitch of variable "bounce" that gave some assistance to bowlers.

  1. sightscreens each end roped off to need and movable;
  2. score-box/-board present, covers ready;
  3. outfield well cut with minimal grass cuttings, weeds, ruts, holes, surrounds tidy.
  4. Outfield clear of debris.
Mark 7/8 if in addition to the above
  1. boundary clearly defined by rope, line etc.
  2. outfield mown with very few grass cuttings
  3. Square delineated clearly within outfield.
Mark 9/10 if in addition to the above
  1. mown short with no grass cuttings
  2. Surrounds well maintained
