Job Title:Chief Operating Officer

Responsible to:Chief Executive

Overall Purpose

This is a key management post in the continued growth and development of the Trust’s work, with a major emphasis on leading the existing UK management team in the delivery of the Trust’s strategic plan and existing volunteering programmes.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role is core in delivering the Trust’s expansion plans alongside a qualitative and measureable development of our existing overseas programmes and volunteer experiences.

1Principle Accountabilities.

1.1The management and development of staff including annual appraisals and recruitment as required.

1.2Ensuring the delivery and management of our existing core volunteer programmes in Tanzania and Peru through our school, construction and medical expeditionsand in country medical programmes.

1.3Overseeing the ongoing development of the Jubilee Hope and Amazon Hope programmes.

1.4Managing and reviewing annual operational budgets and ensuring their delivery.

1.5Supporting the Chief Executive and wider team in the promotion pf the charity.

1.6Bringing forward initiatives for the strengthening of the Vine Trust community at large.

1.7Supporting the maintenance and development of key stakeholder relationships and developing support for our extended family of donors and supporters.

1.8Supporting the UK team in their relationships with overseas partners and wider development plans for our overseas work.

1.9Research and initiate wider development plans through identifying and applying for funds alongside the Chief Executive.

1.10 Identifying and developing relationships with potential funders, alongside the delivery of funding applications in liaison with the Chief Executive.

2General Accountabilities

2.1Support the Chief Executive in the setting of priorities and action plans aligned to the Trust’s goals.

2.2Support the Chief Executive in the creation of new partnerships and evaluation of new country plans.

2.3Deputise for the Chief Executive as required.

2.4Attend Vine Trust Board meetings.

2.5Promote the work of the Trust through public speaking engagements and wider PR opportunities.

3Other Information

3.1Eligibility to work / reside in the UK/EU is essential.

3.2A Full driving license is required along with access to a car.

3.3Disclosure Scotland check will be required.
