1. COURSE INFORMATION

Welcome to the English Language Course (General English and ESP)!

This course is provided by the Faculty of Education in Jagodina.

This course is taught by Ivana Cirkovic Miladinovic.

2. SESSIONS

Sessions will be on Monday and will take the form of interactive lectures with the input from the tutor and a variety of reflective, analytical and evaluative tasks. Active involvement in tasks, discussion and sharing of ideas and experience will be related especially to the week’s topic in exercise classes.

3. AIMS

to provide you with the linguistic knowledge, and language skills you will need to use in target language.

to provide a basis for further development through self-directed language enhancement activity, peer exchange and reading.

FOCUS WILL BE ON: Grammar & Vocabulary

5. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS:

  • Greater confidence in four language skills: reading, listening, writing, speaking
  • Revised grammar and more proficient usage of it

  • Bigger confidence in oral and written communication
  • The ability to engage in critical thinking.

8. LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course you will have:

  • Revised and expanded knowledge you already posses on grammar and vocabulary
  • Enhanced four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening
  • Developed a greater critical awareness and understanding of the linguistic demands placed on learners by the English language for teacher purposes
  • Have taken steps to familiarise yourself with resources for developing awareness of the English language
  • Implemented a self-diagnosed and self-planned programme of language proficiency enhancement related to your own needs, priorities and interests for future professional development.
