  • We are doing a new thing where we will be sending the docket out to club members who are coming to Senate that week so that they know where they are in the docket

  1. SB-46-2017— To allow the CofC Women in Business Club to become a budgeted organization

  • This club’s purpose is mainly just to bridge the gap between men and women in business
  • Unite against wage gap for women
  • Budgeted club
  • Our advisor started a club in the Charleston area of this same topic
  • We have 70+ members
  • Already elected our Executive Board
  • I transferred from Florida state and was part of their Women in Business Club there so I have experience
  • The Dean of the Business School is on board with this club
  • Events are going to have more of a social focus
  • We will plan guest speakers and workshops
  • Mentorship program will be our big thing where women are paired with working business women in the area as mentors
  • We plan on spreading the word through tabling, flyers, LinkedIn, Facebook page, website, etc.
  • I have been in contact with the Women in Business Club President at Boston College
  • We have people shadowing our Executive Board members so that the transition next year is seamless

  • On going initiatives include:
  • Cougar Closet: the main problem was finding a location, but Jonah will be passing on the information he has about that
  • Looking at a company that will provide portable chargers as a compromise to charging tables in the library
  • Increasing the amount of dog waste stations; We need to contact physical plant about that
  • New Initiatives include:
  • Adding an LGBTQ signifier to those people’s applications to track drop out rates and such
