The ‘Try Try Try Again’ SCRFC Minis Tour to England 2014
Friday 4th April to Monday 7th April 2014 (inclusive)
Planning is well-underway for this season’s tour for the P5, P6 and P7’s age groups to England.
Our final destination is Shropshire and our accommodation will be at Boreatton Park, Shrewsbury, England (www.pgl.co.uk)
We will have a full itinerary to keep Tourists busy during the tour including ‘international’ rugby against local teams and outward bound activities. Accommodation is on a Full-board basis.
A full itinerary will be sent in due course but the outline is as follows:
1. Set off from Bridgehaugh on Friday 4th April 2014, early morning, by bus. Permission to be sought from schools by parents for an authorised day of absence from school.
2. Return to Bridgehaugh on Monday 7th April 2014 in the early evening.
It is anticipated that the costs per Tourist will be around £180 but every effort will be made to keep costs to a minimum without compromising the quality of the Tour or the enjoyment of all Tourists. All travel, accommodation, meals, evening entertainment and tour kit will be included in the final price. Parents requiring financial assistance with costs should contact the Tour Director (details below).
As in previous years, we do ask parents for their help in making sure that the costs are kept as low as possible through offers of sponsorship, donations of auction/raffle prizes and active participation in all fundraising activity such as selling Tour raffle tickets and the Family Ceilidh on 1st February 2014. Tourists are required to assist where possible in fund-raising activities including the planned supermarket bag-packing. The success of the 2014 Tour will be entirely down to everyone getting actively involved – players, coaches and parents/guardians.
To qualify for the Tour, players must be paid up members of SCRFC and have been available and played in several matches throughout the season.
At this time we require confirmation of numbers and clothing sizes (at time of tour). This will enable us to order tour kit in advance and at a more competitive price. Please note that it is your responsibility to provide the correct measurements. We will attempt to provide the opportunity for kit to be tried on for size before it is ordered but cannot guarantee this.
Please complete the attached confirmation and consent forms and return to the club house on Saturday 21st September 2013, with a non-refundable deposit of £100 or full anticipated payment of £180. The Tour Committee will be available between 11.00 am and Midday in the club house to receive forms and payment. A brief parents meeting for those choosing to go on Tour will be held in early October. The Tour Director will be at Bridgehaugh on Wednesday 25th September 2013 from 6.00 p.m. to 7 p.m. for anyone unable to make it on the 21st.
The balance of tour fees must be paid by Saturday 25th January 2014. We will advise of the final amount in advance of this date and this will be dependent on the level of sponsorship and fundraising.
We hope that between 80-90 children and 20+ coaches will go on tour. We need to achieve the right balance in each age group for the tour rugby matches. If we are over-subscribed in any age group then it is possible that your child may be put on a reserve list and your deposit will be returned until a place becomes available.
