Cadets will be required to call their parents/guardians to advise them of their safe arrival and that they have met up with theEscort.

Cadets traveling by air are to ensure that they keep their service jacket (service record) on their person. Do NOT place the service jacket into the seabag or other ‘checked’ baggage. This will eliminate any possibility of the service jacket being separated from the Cadet. Arrival at check-in without the service record will prohibit entry into the training.

Parents/Guardians: You must ensure that your choice of airline carrier permits your cadet to travel un-escorted. A Escort Officer will meet your Cadet at the baggage claim area upon arrival to CLEVELAND. Following graduation, An Escort Officer will return your Cadet to CLEVELAND airport; however, the Escort Officer will not escort your Cadet past the security point at the airport; therefore, ensure that your airline permits unescorted travel of your Cadet.Your cadet will be told to call you when they get past security.

Travel by Vehicle:

Parents/guardians should plan to stay through the completion of the check-in process. The check-in process includes an administrative process that will be conducted in the center, and it also includes a seabag inspection that will take place at that time. Parents/guardians will need to locally purchase any required items that are missing from the seabag list. When both parts of the check-in process are complete, parents/guardians will be notified and released. COTC must know to whom the Cadet is to be released following the training. This information must be provided on the travel form.
