The Executive Director/Administrator is responsible for providing overall leadership in the day-to-day operation of a senior living community. This person is charged with maintaining staff, resident and family engagement, in addition to budget adherence and regulatory compliance.

The NCALA Community Leadership Award will honor one executive director/administrator of a member assisted living community who is an ideal representative and role model for the thousands of executives leading senior living communities.

The winner of this year’s award will receive $1000, one night hotel accommodation at this year’s conference, and a free 2018 conference registration (with CEUs). NCALA will also issue a press release and recognize all nominees and finalists in The NCALA Advisor and on NCALA social media pages.

NCALA asks you ensure your nominee attends the 2017 NCALA Fall Conference & Trade Show on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, where they will be honored at the Awards Luncheon. If your nominee is not able to attend, please let NCALA know so that we can move to the next finalist on the list.

  2. Give specific examples of how the nominee fosters a cohesive and positive community of residents, their families, and staff.
  3. Give examples of how the nominee encourages employee engagement and staff satisfaction.
  4. Give examples of how the nominee encourages resident and family satisfaction.
  5. Describe an idea, process, or program that the nominee implemented, and which increased revenue.
  6. Describe an idea, process, or program that the nominee implemented, and which improved expense management.
  7. Give an example of how the nominee is an executive role model outside the senior living community (e.g., volunteerism, state affiliate board member, etc).
