NEASC ACCREDITATION WORKSHOP

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) is offering a one day workshop of training for staff and administration to serve on accreditation Visiting Teams for NEASC. This workshop is also helpful for schools interested in possible accreditation or planning to conduct a Self-Study.

The workshop will be led by Peter C. Mott, Director of the Commission of American and International Schools of NEASC. Peter just finished a long, successful tenure as Director of the Zurich International School, during which he was extensively involved with accreditation with both NEASC and the Council of International Schools (CIS).

About the presenters:

Peter C. Mott

Peter C. Mott has been the Director of Zurich International School (ZIS) since its foundation in 2001and until 2012. From 1989-2001 he was Head of the American International School of Zurich (AISZ), one of ZIS’ two predecessor schools. He served on the Board of the Council of International Schools (CIS), has been a member of the NEASC Commission of American and International Schools Abroad (CAISA), and, in April 2010, was appointed Associate Director of CAISA. He has chaired and co-chaired many accreditation team visits to international schools all over the world. As of August 2012 he will succeed Rev. Pete Woodward as the Director of CAISA. Peter is Swiss, but was educated in Germany, the UK, and the U.S.

The Rev. Brinton W. “Pete” Woodward, Jr., an Episcopal priest, has spent the bulk of his professional life at two Episcopal, secondary boarding schools: ten years as chaplain, teacher, and coach at Kent School in Kent, Connecticut and twenty-four years as Headmaster and teacher at Holderness School in Plymouth, New Hampshire. While at Holderness, Pete was deeply involved in the New England Association of Schools and College, serving as President of the Association, Chair of the Committee on American and International Schools Abroad, and Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee. Currently Pete is the Associate Director of the Committee on American and International Schools Abroad. Also, he is one of ten partners in Educators’ Collaborative, a group of former, long tenured Heads of School who do educational consulting, primarily Head searches for independent schools. Pete serves on several Boards, including Perkins School for the Blind in Boston and Whole Village in Plymouth.

The cost of the Workshop is $100.00 dollars per person payable to Tri-Association for regular members. The fee for invitational members is $110 dollars per person. The fee for participants of non-member schools is $120. The fee includes lunch and breaks. (The fee does not include Tri-Association Conference Registration.) The workshop payment may be included in your conference registration check payable to the American School Association.
