2.  Students will work with their partner or small group from Friday to complete their poster for the Water.org Dress Down Day.
Closing / Rules for the Water Walk tomorrow.
Homework / If you didn’t finish your poster, it is due tomorrow!

Tuesday 3/15

Opening (Journal): / NONE TODAY- water walk.
Work Period: / Today we will be embarking on our long walk to water. Students will each carry two gallon jugs filled with water as we walk nearly two miles outdoors. Participation is worth a project grade. How much water they have left in their jugs will determine their grade.

Wednesday 3/16

Work Period: / 1.  Students will receive a copy of the Timeline Chart for India’s Independence. This will go on IN p 65.
2.  We will begin the powerpoint on India’s Independence. The timeline chart will serve as their guided notes. We will pause throughout the presentation to allow students to synthesize the information given to them to compose a summary of each year on the timeline.
3.  Students will receive IN 64 where they will compose a reflection on one of Ghandi’s most famous quotes.
Closing / Do you recognize this quote? I will share various quotes from Ghandi with the students and ask for reactions.
Homework / IN 64-65 due Friday.

Friday 3/18

Opening (Journal): / What is communism?
What kind of government would a communist country have? What kind of economy would it have?
Work Period: / 1.  The teacher will check IN 64 and 65.
2.  We will watch the brainpop video on communism found here: https://www.brainpop.com/socialstudies/worldhistory/communism/
3.  After discussing communism, we will begin our notes on the Communism in China. Students will fill out their guided notes, which will go on IN 67. IN 66 is a flow chart that will be completed in class together.

Homework / IN 66 and 67 due Wednesday 3/23.
