Dear Readers,
The 2016 CIGRE Session will take place in less than four months from now.
In this editorial I would like to emphasize two points: the registration process and the main innovations that the delegates will discover this year.
As mentioned in the General Programme of the Session, the registration process is slightly different from what it was in the past:

Registrations and payments will be closed on 15th August 2016;
There will be no on-site registration and payments at the Palais des Congrès.

The first Early Bird rate is now closed (since 30th April 2016) and the second early bird rate is ending on 31st July 2016. These preferential rates are applicable if the registration fee payment is received before the end of the rate period.
I also remind you that, as in the past, the member rate is applicable only to the members who have paid two consecutive years’ membership fees (2014 and 2015, or 2015 and 2016).
The main innovations for this Session address different profiles of participants to the Session:

For young members, but of course not only for them, we will have six tutorials on the Monday afternoon;
For delegates who want to submit spontaneous contributions during the Group Discussion Meetings, we have developed a web based system to facilitate their interaction with the session chairs;
For delegates, exhibitors and visitors, an updated CIGRE 2016 app with more interactive features will be available;
For Working Group Conveners and Study Committee Secretaries, demonstrations on the new collaborative tools recently developed will be presented during the Session week;
For National Committee Representatives, demonstrations on the online membership management tool will also be presented.
