OUR SOCIETY’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!
The Spiritist Society of Floridais honored to announce our 25th Anniversary!!! Our group first started meeting in 1978 but as a Society it has been twenty-five years now. We have always passed out Spiritist material at our meeting…and later as a newsletter. Wethen started sending it out through the internet all around the world. Our readers have let us know how it has consoled, inspired, and sustained them. We are so pleased to be able to do this, with God’s Help.
We thank God and His Messengers that have guided, inspired, and watched over all of us - our mediums, writers, website creators, and our group! Our members form a wonderful spiritual family, with some having been with us since the beginning. We pray that we may continue to merit the spiritual assistance that we feel we know we have received…in many years to come!
BEING OF SERVICE
Spirit communication received by Y. Limoges
The greatest good is service to others. Going out of your way to assist your fellowman, taking time away from your own self-interests to help someone in need, is blessed in the Eyes of God. Expecting nothing in return but to know that you have benefited another is reward enough for those whose souls are humble and caring. So think of others before yourself and be as an angel upon the earth.
YOU NEVER KNOW
Written by Jacqueline Benenati
I have a standing invitation to have Thanksgiving dinner with a friend and her family. She has now turned this tradition over to her son. There were some new guests and we gathered around the table. I was asked to say the blessing. During the prayer, I mentioned those who could not be with us, and in my thoughts, I meant family and friends who lived out of town and those who had passed into the spirit world.
The next day my friend called to tell me that one of the new guests commented on the prayer. This person’s mother had recently passed away and, in her mind, she felt the prayer had included her mother. It had really touched her.
Whether we are aware or not, sometimes prayers that are said in a generalized way are taken as a personal message. You never know.
BE THANKFUL
Written byJacqueline Benenati
Thank God for every trial and tribulation that you have undergone or are still undergoing. There are just reasons for them. God, through His Divine Laws, has given you the opportunity to go through these experiences in order for you to progress morally and spiritually.
SPIRITISM
Written byMarian Bugasto
Spiritism fills my life and my soul. Knowledge of Spiritism helps ease the pain of losing a loved one, and knowing that they don’t forget us and we never forget them, and that they can see and communicate with us.
Spiritism has been a blessing in my life for as long as I can remember and I never feel alone. I know the importance of our progress in the material world, of having faith, and studying. Being a Spiritist helps one to help other people regardingtheir questions about life after death or the passing of a loved one;telling them about the spirit world and that we never really die, gives them hope. We know the spirit world and the material world…gohand in hand. Blessings all!
YOU HAVE HELP
Spirit Communication received by Y. Limoges
Don’t be so sad my children. We feel your heartbreaking, see your tears, and hear your sobs. Let the Love of God and His Messengers ease your pain. Open yourself up to let us help you. Don’t be so sad, your spirit guides are holding your hand, can you not feel them? Your soul aches but you shut us out with self-pity, agitation, impatience, anger, and pride. Life is difficult but as they say, “God Helps those who help themselves.” Stop and be still. Be humble, and realize your soul needs uplifting from something outside yourself. You need spiritual nourishment to sustain you. Let us help you! Seek, and ye shall find it. Pray, study, and let your knowledge of Spiritismprovide you with strong faith.
(NOTE: Some say “Help me!” yet have not done what they themselves were capable of… praying for the right things, studying Spiritism, and trying to put it into practice. You have the tools! Try to do your part first and your spirit guides will be there to assist you.Y.L.)
DIVINE INTERVENTION
Earlier this month, right before my birthday, I went shopping. When I finished I pushed my cart to the car and loaded my packages. I put the cart in the return space, got in my car and drove away. Halfway home I realized my purse was not in the car. I had left it in the cart.
Frantic, I drove back to the store and looked in the cart but it was empty. My heart raced as I walked into the store to the customer service desk. I said a little prayer and asked if anyone had turned in my purse. It seemed like forever before the clerk replied. Yes, some honest person had turned it in. To my amazement everything in my purse was there. Nothing was missing. What are the odds of that? Surely God and my guardian angel were with me. When I got home I sat down and wrote a letter to the local neighborhood newspaper to thank the honest stranger.
That very same day the electric window on my car broke and I had to have it repaired at an expensive cost. I told God that I considered us even.
(TheSt Petersburg Times, our local newspaper, did in fact publish her letter.)
CHANGE NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE
Written by Jacqueline Benenati
Every negative thought can be turned into a positive one. Rather than complain about something, find the positive in it. Don’t complain about traffic but thank God you went to and from work safely. Don’t complain about what you don’t have but concentrate on what you do have. Don’t be ungrateful if you have health problems but realize there are people dying. It’s your choice to look at life negatively or positively. Like attracts like. You can make your life better by how you think about it.
ATHEISTS
Written by Marian Bugasto
We all know that an atheist is a person that does not have a religion or spiritual belief. They don’t believe in God, Our Father, and they think they are born and then die, and that is the end of life. The material world is all that they have and know. They don’t know they have spirit guides with them always or that they are spirits with a material body.
No matter what they do in life, like the rest of us, their good and wrong choices will count towards the progress of their spirit. Many of them do charity and good deeds and have a good family and good friends. Not having a faith, all they will have for sustenance are their good deeds and their loved ones. Yet as God’s Children, they have the same love and understanding from the spirit world and some day they will learn that we “don’t die” and there is a God and there is a spirit world for all. What a surprise!
THE SILENT DANCE WITHIN A SONG
Written by Julie L. Harper
When I sing a meaningful song, my feelings send loving words that ride on the vibration ofbreath in expression of my heart. My expression resonates in entrainment with those listeners whose hearts are similarly touched. The beauty of sharing between souls is then created and so are the bonds of a unified connection that extends beyond the physical moment in time.
And so it is with every word in thought, whispered or shouted --theyare far reaching and they result in a ripple effect of silent bonding beyond what we may momentarily understand. The power of wordsmay be healing or hurtful, so their allowance must be guarded for harmonious synchronization, like that of a love song.
I've discovered that one cannot sing and think of something else at the same time. So to keep a song of goodness within ones heart, also keeps love within oneself. And since emotion is always naturally expressed without, ones quiet love song rides on unseen breath to touch and bond with others in a silent dance. May the dance of our songs affect others with the ties that bind us within love.
(NOTE: What we think, speak, and do provide for either positive harmonious energies or with negative vibrations surrounding us, and this affects those around us. Our level of morality is a deciding factor, so we areresponsible for what “spiritual atmosphere” we create. Y.L.)
IT’S TIME…TIME TO GO!
Written by Marian Bugasto
When we talk about the time we may have left in the material world, nobody knows how long. Many of us or our family and friends wish that our leaving would never happen. Some want to live forever but we know there always is a set time. The best preparation we have is to love our family and friends and try to live a life where we progress spiritually.
When we reincarnate, we have a “date” to be born and a “date” to leave, when we fulfill this incarnation in the material world. So it is already on our calendar of life.
It is sadand full of sorrowthe passing of a love one, but we can try and understand that it is a circle we all must go through. Some return to the spirit world due to illness, some are very young, and others are old. We have different lives and lessons to learn, but we all return to our real life and home – in the Spirit World. With faith and love we can handle it, knowing no one truly dies!
THE WORKERS OF THE LAST HOUR
Written by Julie L. Harper
On a couple different occasions, I heard mention of the phrase “the workers of the last hour” but its meaning alluded me. Since then, I’ve learned that the last hour is not sixty minutes before the demise of earthly time, but instead it’s a glorious space in time of God-like progression.
I learned that those who do good works contribute toward the building of a higher level of consciousness upon an existing foundation of ancient wisdom. The building of each elevated conscious level raises human evolution yet once again because we’re all universally connected.
I soon recognized that we, as Spiritists, have the teachings from the wisdom of master prophets at our fingertips which make it our moral duty to lovingly exercise good works according to our understanding. Again, it is our moral duty to be dedicated altruistic servants of God toward the furtherance of good progression to benefit humanity. All current good workers are amongst “the Workers of the Last Hour.”

NEARNESS TO GOD
Spirit Communication received by Y. Limoges
The Creator is Everywhere and Knows Everything; the past, present, and future. What you feel, what you think, and what you do, or will do is already known.Yet, you set your own path and choose your own journey. There is no judgment; there is only evolution and eventual nearness to God.
Although you may think you are so far away from that closeness,it is only that your imperfections cloud your spiritual vision.
In time, the shadows and haze will lift and you will see the Divine Light that shines all around you in its Perfect Brilliance. So be patient, my children, for all will finally come to know the Glory of God, for there are no exceptions.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
Don’t forget that during this time of giving,Amalia Domingo Soler’s Spiritist Classic,Memoirs of Father Germain, is an excellent book in the form of a novel to introduce a relative, friend,or teenager gently into learning about the concepts of Spiritism. And for those who are already Spiritists, the Miguel Vives book – A Practical Guide for the Spiritist – is a must have guidebook onpersonal conduct. These books can beneficially change people’s outlook on life and death. Both books were translated into English by Edgar Crespo for the first time and are available for order on-line at or it can be ordered at Barnes & Noblesbook stores.
My dear friends, this is our last newsletter for the year. The next one will be in January 2008. Please note our new website has our newsletters on-line back to year 2005 now.
