Outline Job Specification for a full-time Dental Nurse/ Receptionist November 2017

The vacancy:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and willingperson to compliment our established staff team at Duston Dental Practice. We are a hard working, friendly team who get on well & socialise together. We are looking for someone who will work both on reception & in surgery. We use ‘Exact’ software; some knowledge of this is helpful but full training will be given if necessary. The successful applicant may also be asked to undertake other tasks conducive to the smooth running of our Practice.

We expect qualified applicants to be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and to pass a Criminal Records Bureau check. The Practice will pay your GDC registration while you are working with us. Qualified applicants will also be asked to provide up-to-date proof of the necessary vaccinations and Hepatitis B immunity status.

About us:

Our surgery opening hours are 8.15am to 5.30pm Monday-Thursday. The successful applicant will also be expected to fit into our evening working hours rota; typically this will include working one evening surgery session per week; either on a Tuesday or Wednesday until 7pm. Our standard working week is 37.5 hours and we work a half-day Friday, 8am to 12.30pm.

Salary and benefits:

The starting salary for this position is between £15,015 to £20,475 per annum plus bonus and pension benefits, depending on age, experience & qualifications. A six-month probationary contract will be issued to the successful applicant, followed by a permanent contract subject to appraisal. Holiday entitlement is 21 days plus bank holidays and other days that the practice may be closed, rising to 26 days depending on length of service. We provide in house professional development and will arrange & fund attendance of other courses. You will be encouraged and supported to further your education within dental nursing.
