SASS Professional Learning Facilitators (2) - full time

Ultimo Operational Directorate

The Ultimo SASS Reference Group (SRG) is seeking expressions of interest from suitable applicants for the temporary positions of full time Professional Learning Facilitators based at the Hurstville and Glenfield SASS Training Centres. The positions will commence on Friday 27 January 2017 to Monday 28 January 2019.

The successful full time applicants will work hours equal to a School Administrative Manager position (31 hours 25 minutes per week) and will retain right of return to their schools.

The positions will be located at:

·  Hurstville SASS Training Centre (Hurstville Boys HS)

·  Glenfield SASS Training Centre (Glenfield Education Office)

Professional Learning Facilitators are required to coordinate and promote the professional learning for SAS staff across the Ultimo Operational Directorate. The Professional Learning Facilitators coordinate SRG projects, conferences and programs and liaise with SASS and Department of Education representatives to promote SRG programs. The role requires Professional Learning Facilitators to establish and build sound working partnerships with all stakeholders involved in SRG professional learning programs.

An expression of interest addressing the selection criteria, of no more than 3 pages in length, should be emailed to Jennifer York, Learning, Teaching and Leading Coordinator, Riverwood Education Office at by 4:00pm on Friday 28 October 2016.

Include the name and contact details of two referees, as well as a Principal endorsement indicating approval for the applicant’s deployment during the stated period of time, should the applicant be successful.

Selection criteria

§  Demonstrated commitment to SASS professional learning.

§  Capacity to contribute to the development and facilitation of SASS professional learning workshops.

§  High level communication and problem-solving skills.

§  Confidence and skills in using a range of ICT in promotions, presentations and reports.

§  Efficient financial management skills including experience in developing and monitoring budgets.

§  Capacity to use the SAP system for financial management and reporting.

Statement of duties

Administrative systems and processes

§  Prepare and plan budgets for SRG income and expenditure, regular review budgets and forecasting and provide regular reports to Executive and SRG committee

§  Manage the coordination of end of year reports

§  Ability to process procure to pay and prepare reports using SAP

§  Prepare briefings with rationale and financial implications for approval

§  Manage all aspects of my MyPL including scheduling events, managing enrolments, evaluation questions, preparation of sign on sheets, name tags, dietary requirements

§  Support the planning of SRG meetings by organising venues, catering and relief

§  Attend SRG meetings to determine SASS professional learning needs and support the committee and the Director Educational Services (or their nominee)

§  Book accommodation and travel

Training, Conferences and development of Professional Learning resources

§  Coordinating conferences, book dates, venues, catering, facilities, course material including printing for workshops, facilitators and guest speakers.

§  Prepare sign on lists, name badges and enter attendance data in MyPL

§  Provide support to schools on registration into MyPL

§  Preparation of course flyers

§  Manage MyPL registrations

§  Coordinate the development and delivery of professional learning resources

§  Manage assigned DoE training venues, including catering, maintenance of equipment, security, coordination of cleaning and building maintenance

§  Prepare and maintain calendar of professional learning events

§  Attend conference and training events where required to support coordination

§  Maintain course evaluations

§  Provide input into the development of training resources for SAS staff

§  Facilitate the delivery of training and support to SAS staff on new systems and processes (e.g. LMBR)

Communications

§  Liaise with SASS across the Educational Services Directorates

§  Provide communications to schools by means of preparing newsletters, updating the website, emails and SchoolBiz.

§  Liaise with external stakeholders such as TAFE, other recognised training organisations, conference presenters and conference sponsors.
