CALL TO WORSHIP

*HYMN: O Worship the King No. 2

RESPONSIVE PRAYER OF CONFESSION: From Psalm 51

One: Be gracious to us, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness.

All: According to the greatness of Thy compassion blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquities.

One: Behold, Thou dost desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part Thou wilt make us know wisdom.

All: Purify us and we shall be clean; Wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow.

One: Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us.

All: Do not cast us away from Thy presence, and do not take Thy Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of Thy salvation, and sustain us with a willing spirit.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and buried;

he descended into hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. AMEN.
