The District Governor, Dave Johnson will be making the annual visit to our club on July 23rd. The evening prior to his visit to our club there will be a reception for him at the home of Kirk and Trudy Broiles July 22nd at 6:00 p.m., 2706 Lake Pointe Dr., TC. Please make plans to attend and meet our DG for 2013-14.

Bob Greeley has proposed Natalie Ainsworth for membership under the classification Non-Profit Executive Director. Natalie is the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity Bay Area.

Ben Baty – July 7th– Born in Houston and married Bonnie Hardin in 1955, Ben graduated from the University of Texas and was basketball manager 1953-54. He played freshman baseball and refereed high school and college basketball for 22 years, including the Southwest Conference. He went into the insurance business in 1958. Ben joined Rotary in 1972 in LaMarque and was president there from 1977-78. Proposed by Joe Hoover, Ben joined the Texas City club in 1985. He currently serves on the Rotary club’s Board; District 5910 Insurance Chair for over 20 yrs; District 5910 Roll of Fame honoree; multiple Paul Harris Fellow; Major Donor; founding member of the Herb Langford Fellows; perfect attendance.. Ben and Bonnie have 2 sons, Rick and Byron, both former Rotarians who are Paul Harris Fellows as are all their grandchildren.

Donnie Lera – July 10th – Donnie joined the club February 17, 2009, and was proposed by Mike Cooper. He was also a member of the Galveston Club and transferred to Texas City after Hurricane Ike. Donnie is employed by Stewart Title Guaranty Company as a Senior Vice President. He graduated from LaMarque HS, Texas A&M and served in the US Army. Donnie has one daughter, Angela and one granddaughter, Caroline Termini.

Randy Dietel – July 11th – Randy joined Rotary January 20, 1971, under the classification Marine Construction. He was proposed by Travis Sheffield. Randy is a Past President, having served during the club’s 50th anniversary. He has always been very involved in the club’s activities and projects. Randy is a District 5910 Roll of Fame recipient as well as the recipient of the Club Vocational Service Award, multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Herb Langford Fellow. Randy is married to Peggy; also a PHF and Rotary Ann, and they have two children, Gretchen and Kristian. Randy is very involved with the Civility in Government program.
