Banquet Committee – Banquet is 11-19 and members Keith Forker and Rick Kiley are planning awards for members

Wellness Committee – No updates to report

Scholarship Committee – President Tony DelNegro read an outline (see attached pdf) of the committees suggested guideline. Discussion and questions regarding parts of the outline as follows.

  1. Is the donations tax deductable? Two members stated we must be registered as a 501-C3 to be eligible for donations to be tax deductable.
  2. Will we award 1 or 2 scholarships per year? (1 boy and 1 girl). This will depend on our balance and what we receive as applications.
  3. the scholarship award dollar amount will be no less than $250 and discussion compared this to the basketball scholarship
  4. The outline stated the award would be paid after the recipients first semester grades were turned in…..this seemed to be a long way off and other scholarships do not wait to pay out this far but basketball pays this way. Some members felt that confirmation of attendance in the spring was satisfactory for paying out, but others states that kids could still not attend.
  5. Are CCSOA family members eligible to apply? Jarod Smoller, as long as the parent is not on the board. Joe Mendes, No Family members should be eligible. Rick Kiley made a motion, “No Immediate family members would be eligible to apply for the CCSOA Scholarship. Jarod Smoller made a motion for discussion to define family members. Motion Amended by Rick Kiley that No Family member of CCSOA eligible to apply. Motion for discussion. Carl Zopatti made a motion to end discussion and vote. Motion passed.

Transaction Handout-Execute!

Discussion was opened to recent calls and situations during games.

  1. Do not restart goal kick if attacking player is tying shoe in box
  2. Trainer came on to field and not called on for visiting team goalie. Don’t penalize the team for this. Should be part of pre-game with trainer.
  3. Hands on back. Player protecting themselves. The hands are not the foul, the push is the foul.
  4. Persistent infringement for fouls – speak to player and partner.
  5. Handling – deliberate versus intent.

Joe Mendes – go to ussoccer.com and read position papers.
