End of Unit Landmarks Project

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have been working on the Transdisciplinary theme “WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE AND TIME”. The central idea is“SOCIETIES HAVE LANDMARKS THAT REPRESENT HISTORICAL EVENTS”

“Landmarks in America and around the world” is one of our lines of inquiry.

Your child create a research Project on one of the landmarks or symbols on the attached list.

The Research Project must answer the following questions:

1. What date was your landmark or symbol established?

2. Who was responsible for establishing your landmark or symbol?

3. What does your landmark or symbol represent?

4. Where is your landmark or symbol located?

5.What are two exciting facts that you learned about your landmark or symbol?

6. What is the connection between the landmark/symbol and an event in its society?

The project can be completed as a PowerPoint Presentation, a booklet, or a poster; your child can also build a model of the landmark. The completed project must include pictures (except for the models); they can be printed from the internet, drawn by the student, or cut and pasted from magazines. All written information must be in the Target Language.

At the end of the research, your child will conduct a brief presentation of his/her project to the class in the Target Language.

The project is due on Thursday, March 10th, 2016.
