I Winter Wonderland

- Planning

Presiding Officer Dave Rector noted that there has been a positive response to the 1st

Annual Emerson Winter Wonderland. The event will start with the Tree Lighting

Ceremony and continue with Ice Skating, Holiday Shopping at vendor booths,

Christmas Tree Sales, Pictures with Santa, and Holiday Gift Wrapping Service. The

The Winter Wonderland event will benefit Project Graduation 2018, and individuals

are needed to volunteer. The biggest concern that the Recreation Commission will

face is fundraising, specifically selling booths and sponsorships.

Unity Bank, Cradles to Crayons, and the Chamber of Commerce expressed interest in

sponsoring the Winter Wonderland.

Willie Ortiz mentioned that he contacted the real estate owner of Starbucks to have a

booth set up to sell beverages. The real estate owner will get back to Willie.

The fee from ice skating would benefit the Graduating Class of 2018.

Millie Hoxha is involved with Project Graduation 2018. Recreation Commission member

Dave Cannici had the opportunity to speak to the individuals who are interested in

volunteering at the Winter Wonderland event.

- Logistics
