Job Title: Fundraising Assistant

Salary: £20,000 per annum

Reports to: Head of Fundraising

Hours: Full time – 35 hours per week

Location: The post will be based at the Charity’s office in Brook Green, W14 (nearest stations are Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and Kensington Olympia).

JOB PURPOSE

To support the charity’s fundraising activities under the direction of the Head of Fundraising with a particular focus on supporting community and corporate fundraising. To carry out support, coordination and administrative tasks across the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  DONOR LIAISON

·  Act as first point of call with all telephone and email enquiries

·  Filter enquiries/ information to relevant staff member

·  Ensure timely thanking of donations

·  Keep accurate records of all enquiries and contact made with supporters on The Raiser’s Edge database

2.  VOLUNTEERS

·  Lead the development and management of our volunteer team of ‘Eve Champions’ who raise awareness and funds for the charity

·  Coordinate the activities of fundraising volunteers to maximise opportunities and income

·  Research and develop ideas for volunteer led events

3.  FUNDRAISING PROJECTS & SUPPORT

·  Lead the promotion and marketing of all fundraising events, programmes and activities. This will include social media management, developing marketing materials, representing the charity and delivering presentations at events.

·  Project management of donor cultivation and thank you events as directed by the Head of Fundraising (this may include all elements of event management including sending out invites, booking and liaising with venues and suppliers and dealing with booking/ticket administration)

·  Account managing partnerships as directed by Head of Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships Manager

·  Support the Fundraising Team by sending out materials and information to fundraisers and supporters including in memory or in celebration donors

·  Raise awareness of the work of The Eve Appeal and gynaecological cancers through communications with supporters and attendance at key meetings and events

·  Keep an accurate record of all community and events fundraising on Raiser’s Edge

·  Assist with ad-hoc tasks to support the Fundraising Team in maximising income.

·  Ensure all fundraising communication and interaction is recorded on Raiser’s Edge

4.  DATABASE WORK

·  Responsible for data entry of new fundraisers/donors (enquirers and responders) onto Raisers Edge

·  Working with the rest of the Fundraising Team to ensure Raiser’s Edge records are kept up-to-date

5.  OTHER DUTIES

·  Attend occasional evening and weekend events on behalf of The Eve Appeal

·  To support all members of The Eve Appeal team on an ad-hoc basis as and when required

·  To comply with best practice and legal requirements regarding data protection

·  Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting your work

·  Contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities

·  Carry out other associated duties as may arise, develop or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the post

·  Abide by organisation policies and practices

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL:

·  Knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office

·  Excellent knowledge and experience of using social media channels

·  Exceptional administrative, written and verbal communication skills

·  The ability to develop and maintain relationships with supporters and donors in a professional manner

·  Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, manage a varied workload and work to deadlines

·  Excellent attention to detail

DESIRABLE:

·  Passionate about making a difference for women’s health, medical research and cancer

·  Experience in voluntary sector (paid or voluntary)

·  Experience of using a database

·  Ability to think creatively and contribute to discussions

·  Fundraising experience
