The Regional Waste Management, Transfer Stations & Landfill Information Sessions

The Saskatchewan Environmental Industry and Managers’Association (SEIMA), in partnership with the Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment, will be hosting a series of full day workshops in November, aimed at improving provincial waste management practices and creating opportunities for all workshop registrants and officials to learn from each other. (This is the inaugural Project for SEIMA as we start our 2014-15 Workshop and Conference Series).

EachNovember Workshop will discuss plans and opportunities to develop a broader waste management strategy, and to explore emerging policies and developments with respect to transfer stations and regional landfills. In addition, the workshops will also include speakers and resource people to touch on such topics as:

  • Waste Stewardship
  • Recycling
  • Littering and Control of Illegal Dump Sites
  • Burning
  • Procedures in Landfill Design, Operation, and Closure

A number of key government and technical speakers will be available from the Ministries of Environment, Government Relations and Health. We will also be profiling some local success stories from each Region. Representatives from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) will also add to our list of guest speakers.

The Registration Fee for each full-day Workshop will be $100.00 plus GST (with lunch included at no extra cost). Session will be held from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
