The purpose of this History Mystery is to find out how British towns developed and explore the results of trading on the British Empire. You are going to be presented with a number of tasks to complete. To help you organise your time better the tasks have been set out weekly, use this to your advantage! Your work will be marked to national curriculum levels 4-6 and you are advised to use the Level Ladder to gauge your success as you complete the tasks. If there are parts of the project you do not understand then take the initiative and find it out.

Read the cards below describing the consequences of the growth in trade and decide whether you are dealing with issues that are economic (money), social (people) or political (government). When you have sorted the cards, type or write your results on the record sheet (see page 5)
