Job title: Chinese Project Officer – EU-funded Agricultural Promotions and Communications activities

DS is implementing a Framework contract (FWC) for the organisation of promotion events, high level trade visits and communication activities in third countries for the European Commission DG Agriculture for the Promotion of European agricultural products.

The project involves promotional activities in the following targeted countries:

North America: USA, Canada, Mexico

South America: Brazil, Argentina

Asia: Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea

Other: Russia, Ukraine, U.A.E., Australia, South Africa

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Chinese Project Officer to join our team. Reporting directly to Senior Management, the position will support the high quality and timely delivery of project activities and will occupy a central role in delivery of all specific contracts under the FWC. The position will coordinate responses to Requests for Services, and will oversee the implementation of all project activities. Very good communication and relationship-building skills are a necessity given the need for daily cooperation and liaison with the European Commission, third country government institutions, international organisations, and EU producer groups, as well as the coordination of the team’s interactions with different suppliers.

Qualifications - Ideal candidates require:

·  2 years of professional experience related to logistics and related activities for implementing Public Relation and communication campaigns, organising events such as press conferences, meetings with importers/distributors, seminars, stands at international fairs, exhibitions.

·  Experience on projects implemented outside the EU and on projects for clients from the agro-food sector will be an asset.

·  Undergraduate degree or higher (preferably in communications, events management, international relations or a related field)

·  Ability to work with limited direction, and capacity to ensure strong coordination with colleagues and stakeholders, as well as strong organisational skills

·  Very good communication and relationship-building ability with strong client servicing skills

·  Very good writing and editing skills

·  Highly motivated and hard working

·  Reliability, initiative, thoroughness and attention to detail

·  Fluency in written and spoken English required

·  Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·  Willingness to travel internationally as required
