It is indeed a pleasure of the Founding President of PSWA and ASA President, Mrs Obaida Kabir, to invite you as a delegate or participant in the 21st ASA Congress which will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 1 to 6 September 2012.

The Professional Secretaries Welfare Association of Bangladesh is proud to host the Congress of office and administrative professionals from 15 Asian countries and hope from New Zealand and USA globally.

The summit venue is the Westin, Dhaka in Gulshan – 2, Dhaka City which is surrounded by a selection of restaurants, shopping malls entertainment, and accommodation options. We are planning to arrange for a city tours and plan a visit to Cox-s Bazaar which is the longest sea beach in the world.

With skyscrapers towering above the surrounding houses, Dhaka is the both the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. Geographically speaking, it is located in the center of the country and it is a city that is rich in history and culture and it is known internationally as 'the City of Mosques and Muslin and Jamdani Sarees'. No trip to Bangladesh is complete without first visiting Dhaka.

Dhaka is located in a monsoon climate zone, which means it receives plenty of rainfall every year between May and September during monsoon season.

The city has a strong Muslim influence that is reflected in the roughly mosques and historical buildings that give the city its character. Like many cities, Dhaka can be divided into an old and new city. The new portion of the city is characterized by residential and industrial communities while the old portion makes for better sight seeing.

The city has always enjoyed some fame as a capital city and always has something to offer. Dhaka is one of the busiest and densely populated cities in the world.

Much thought is going into the programme to make it as informative and enjoyable as possible and to also showcase the uniqueness of Bangladesh. The opening ceremony that launches the commencement of the Congress includes a cultural programme.

It is our aim to make your attendance at the Congress a great opportunity to meet other administrative professionals and to help guide the association and their members worldwide in their future. The congress will be strongly led by experienced facilitators who will guide delegates and participants in making good use of their time and attendance and achieving a positive outcome.
