To preserve the integrity and status of the CPLP program, requirements include periodic recertification. This ensures that a CPLP remains an ISTA member, is active in the field, and is still qualified to hold the Certificate. The recertification interval is every three years.

Recertification may be accomplished by successfully completing this Résumé of Industry Activities form, or by passing the appropriate multiple-choice exam. For information about recertification options, visit the CPLP Re-Certification section of the ISTA website at

Applicant information will be reviewed by ISTA’s Certification Committee and the applicant notified within 30 days. All information is treated as “personal and confidential”.

The recertification fee is US$150. Payment may be by check, credit card, or on-line by visiting ISTA’s Store.

Please supply complete information on the form, covering the last three years only (the recertification period), with additional detail as appropriate. The point ranges and definitions for each category are listed for guidance, although special consideration may be given depending on details and the final score will be calculated by ISTA. Evaluation and validation of scores is at the sole discretion of ISTA’s Certification Committee.

A minimum score of 30 is required for CPLP recertification and must be earned in 3 or more of the sections below.

Short courses and seminars are typically specific-subject and one week or less in duration. Major packaging-related educational events such as ISTA’s TransPack Forum, ISTA-China Symposium, ISTA European SymposiumISTA Field Data Workshop, IAPRI Conferences, etc. are multi-presentation and typically one week or less in duration. List course/seminar description, presenting organization, dates, grade received if any, credits or CEU’s if any, appropriate supporting detail.

1 point per day per event for each successfully-completed seminar, course, or event relating to transport packaging. Double points for ISTA-sponsored events (Transport Packaging Forum, Dimensions, etc.). Maximum 15 points.
