The Prince’s Countryside FundContribution to Rural Communities Award, in partnership with M&S - Nomination form
This year, M&S, in partnership with The Prince’s Countryside Fund, has launched the new Contribution to Rural Communities Awardto run alongside the annual M&S Farming for the Future Awards.
The new award is looking to celebrate producers in the food supply chain who are going the extra mile to help support local rural communities. Maybe they have provided land for a local community project, hosted school visits or offered apprenticeship opportunities to young people in the area. We want to celebrate producers playing an important role in the community, outside their day-to-day business activities.
The Contribution to Rural Communities Award is open to any farmers, growers or fishermen and the competition will be split into three regions; England & Wales, Scotland and the island of Ireland, with one award winner and one runner up selected for each region.
Prizes
The regional winners of the Contribution to Rural Communities Award will each receive a cheque for £1,000, and runners up will each receive £100.
Nominations will be shortlisted and winners for each region will be announced at their regional 2016 agriculture show –The Royal Balmoral Show for Ireland and Northern Ireland; The Royal Highland Show for Scotland and the Royal Welsh Show for England & Wales.
