- the Port Phillip Bay (Western Shoreline) and Bellarine Peninsular Ramsar Site Management Plan renewal, and
- the Rivers 2040 Project that involves working with stakeholders and the community to agree on management actions and document preparation.
This role will also support integration of the Authority’s and the region’s NRM strategies and coordinate responses to draft stakeholder strategies, plans and policies.

Organisation Information:
The Victorian Government established the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) in 1997 as a statutory authority under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994 and the Water Act 1989. Our primary role is to oversee land, biodiversity and water resources management based on an understanding and commitment to sustainable use, conservation and rehabilitation of those resources, in an area stretching from Geelong to Ballarat and along the coast to Peterborough.
About 420,000 people live in the catchment’s 13,340 square kilometres in south-west Victoria that includes 175 kilometres of coastal fringe. The region is renowned for its landscape diversity including its spectacular coastline, the Otways, the volcanic plains and the Central Highlands. These landscapes support strong agriculture and forestry sectors, and contain lakes and wetlands of national and international significance, highly valued rivers and estuaries and a range of native flora, fauna and ecological communities.
The CMA consists of a nine member Board and three Departments: Integrated Catchment and Strategy, Community Engagement and Investment; and Business Support. We employ approximately 45 employees with offices in both Colac and Geelong.

Natural Resource Management (NRM) strategy and planning.

Objectives / The position will lead all aspects relating to the delivery of:

- The Rivers 2040 projectthat involves working with stakeholders and the community to agree on management actions and document preparation. This project will initially be focused on the Moorabool Catchment and will be expanded in future years.
It is also expected that the position will coordinate and lead public presentations, forums and meetings, and undertake other duties as directed.
Position background / This is a new position.
Position Location / The position will be based in the Corangamite CMA’s Colac office with the expectation of working from both the Corangamite CMA’s Colac and Geelong offices on an as needs basis.
Award / Salary / Hours / Salary is equivalent to Band 7 of the Corangamite CMA Workplace Agreement.
Fixed term contract to 1/7/2018. Full Time - 38 hours per week with the requirement to work additional hours as required to meet unusual circumstances and operational requirements (negotiable).

Deliver the Rivers 2040 project including project design, coordination, stakeholder engagement and publication preparation resulting in their timely completion. This project will initially be focused on the Moorabool Catchment and will be expanded in future years.
This position will also assist with and lead projects relating to coordination of the RCS implementation, monitoring, reporting and review processes.
As appropriate, attend and represent the Corangamite CMA on relevant forums and participate in ways that maximises the Corangamite CMA’s input and guidance advantageous to the delivery and implementation of the RCS, sub-strategies and other relevant projects.
Partnership Engagement / Play an active role in establishing formal partnerships and improved relationships with the Corangamite CMA’s partner organisations, internal and external stakeholders including the community, resulting in the successful promotion, development, review and implementation of strategies.
Response to Stakeholder Strategies, Plans and Policies / Timely and quality preparation and presentation of papers and submissions for the Board and executive management in response to draft National, State, regional and local draft strategies, plans and policies that have strategic significance to the business of the CMA.
