Rules and Regulations

Please read carefully as changes have been made.

Responsibility

No responsibility will be accepted by the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc or Horse World Sports Stadium or anybody concerned with the show for loss or damage to persons or property. All persons exhibiting are subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc. Any person giving misleading information or making false statements concerning any entry may be disqualified.

You will only be able to collect your paperwork from the office between the hours of:

Friday: 8:00am to 3:00pm

Saturday: 7:00am to 9:00am

3:00pm to 5:30pm

Sunday: 7:00am to 10:00am

Judges

Judges may be altered should circumstances change. No discussion will be entered into.

Judges Decision

The decision of the judge is final in all events.

Behaviour of Exhibitors

Any person who in the opinion of the Show Committee or a judge is found to be abusive to any exhibit or exhibitor, judge or Show Official or spectator may be asked to remove themselves and their exhibits from the grounds of Horse World Sports Stadium immediately. No discussion will be entered into. Any horse who in the opinion of the Judge / Steward / Ringmaster or committee member, that is behaving in a dangerous or uncontrollable manner will be asked to leave the ring immediately.

Swabbing

The Committee reserves the right to swab any horse.

Age of Horses

Age of all horses is calculated from 1 August. All ridden and driven horses must be three years of age and over.

Registration and Membership

All horses must be either foal recorded if under the age of three years or adult registered if 3 years of age and over with the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc. Registration cards and numbers must be allocated prior to the show. No horse will be eligible to compete as pending. All exhibitors must be financial members of the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc. All classes where the rider or handler is judged (eg rider classes, handler classes, sporting events, youth events) may only be entered by a financial member of the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc. Insurance declarations must be signed and completed otherwise entries will not be accepted.

Brood Mares

Brood mares must have a foal at foot, or the exhibitor must produce a current Veterinary Certificate or a positive pregnancy test, or must be visibly in foal (at the discretion of the judge). Brood Mares are not eligible to compete in any other classes other than Best Presented, Best Marked, Progeny Groups, Double and Single Registered, and Ridden Classes if less than six months in foal. The winner of the led Brood Mare class is eligible to compete for Supreme Led Mare of Show.

Foals

No foal under three months of age may be shown without its dam. All foals must be led in a halter and are not to be let run free. Entries to foal classes will only be accepted if the original Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc certificate of foal identification or permanent registration is presented to the Show Secretary at the time of entry.

Appendix Registered Horses

Appendix registered horses are not eligible to compete. Should the Show Secretary be approached by more than three (3) potential exhibitors of Appendix Registered horses prior to the closing date of entries a Led Class may be included in the program of events.

Stallions

Stallions must be under control at all times. Stallions three years and over must be shown in a halter and chain or bridle and bit. All colts and stallions must be handled at all times by a person eighteen years of age and over. There will be no exceptions to these requirements. No colts or stallions may compete in Youth Classes or any other class for competitors under the age of eighteen years.

Height Measuring

Although not a requirement, horses three years of age and over may be measured unless a current EFA or Hack Council measuring certificate can be produced. Exhibitors are encouraged to send in a copy of current height certificates with their entries. Please note: It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to notify the Show Secretary immediately if an exhibit needs to be transferred to a different class or classes.

Exhibit Numbers

Numbers will be allocated for both individual horse classes and rider classes. The catalogue will specify the number to be displayed by the exhibitor in each class, please ensure the correct number is used in all classes.

Suitable Attire/Helmets

All competitors must be suitably attired. No attire bearing the name or logo of any exhibit or stud may be worn while competing in any event. Competitors in ridden events must wear a helmet conforming to the current ASA standard (AS/NZS 3838:2006), with the exception of competitors eighteen (18) years of age and over in Western events or Working Stock Horse events, where HSAA regulations for attire will apply. Helmets and properly fitting riding boots must be worn whilst riding any horse at any time on the grounds of Horse World Sports Stadium. Sporting competitors must wear riding boots and a helmet conforming to the current ASA standard. A western saddle must be used in Western Pleasure events. In Best Presented and Handler classes gloves and a hat must be worn. Exhibitors in led classes must wear enclosed, leather shoes or boots. It is unacceptable for junior handlers and Riders to wear long boots, short boots should be worn for all classes and gloves should be worn for Junior Handler classes.

Tiny Tots & Lead-Line Rider Classes

Riders in these classes must wear properly fitting riding boots or a similar boot with heel, a properly fitted helmet conforming to the current ASA standard (AS/NZS 3838:2006), with a chin strap, and be led from a leading rein. Riders competing in these classes are ineligible to compete in any other ridden class, with the exception of Fancy Dress events.

Fancy Dress

All competitors riding in Fancy Dress classes must wear a properly fitted helmet conforming to the current ASA standard (AS/NZS 3838:2006) and riding boots or similar heeled boots. No workout will be given.

Protests

Any protest must be lodged in writing to the Show Secretary within 30 minutes of the event and be accompanied by $100. A refund of this fee will be made should the protest be upheld, otherwise it will be forfeited.

Changes and Division of Classes

The Committee reserves the right to delete, cancel or alter any event. Classes may be divided or combined according to entries. The Committee reserves the right to change the ring in which an event has been listed at any time.

Novice Horse or Rider

For the purposes of this show, a Novice horse or rider is defined as one who has not won a first ribbon in a Pinto/Open Ridden or Rider Class at any State Show, Coloured Spectacular or Royal Show. Novice horses must be ridden in a snaffle bit. Whips, spurs and drop nosebands are acceptable.

Pleasure Classes

Pleasure Pony/Hack/Galloway - no whips, spurs, drop nosebands or martingales may be used. Jointed snaffle bits only.

Yearling and Two Year Old Sweepstakes

These classes are open to yearling colts, fillies or geldings and two year old colts, fillies and geldings respectively. All entry fees for this class will be placed into the prize pool and be divided accordingly.

Snaffle Bit Maturity

This class is open to three, four and five year old stallions, mares and geldings. All entry fees for this class will be placed into the prize pool and be divided accordingly. Horses entered in this class must be ridden in a snaffle bit. Whips, spurs and drop nosebands are acceptable.

Perpetual Trophies

Several Point Scores will operate throughout the Show. Nominations must be received, and all applicable classes nominated before the closing date of entries.

Acceptance of Entries

Entries will NOT BE ACCEPTED unless they are accompanied by a photocopy of both sides of the horse’s registration certificate, and any other registrations held if entering an exhibit in

double-registered classes. Exhibitors are encouraged to enclose a photocopy of any current height certificate.

Incorrect paperwork will be returned and a fee of $20 will be charged. If you are unsure of anything please contact us before you send in your entry to avoid this fee.

Refund of Entry Fees

No entry fee will be refunded after the closing date of entries unless a Veterinary Certificate or a Doctor’s Certificate is produced. These will need to be accompanied by a letter to the Committee to review.

Stable/Camping refunds may be given on application in writing within fourteen (14) days of the date of the Show for unused stabling or camping fees.

Entries on the Day

Entries for sporting, broodmare and foal classes will be accepted on the day. However you WILL NOT be able to enter any other class on the day. People wishing to have their horse entered for sporting on the day must already be entered in other classes.

Stabling & Camping

Stabling & Camping will be available at Horse World Sports Stadium from Friday 23rd November 2012 to Monday 26th November 2012. Please contact us if you require an extended stay. Anyone who is planning on camping will need to bring a heavy duty extension cord in order to power their sites. Stabling will be charged on a “per day” basis. A “day” is classified as the 24hr period between 9am and 9am the following day. If you are travelling a long distance please advise approximate time of arrival. Camping is charged per night. Fees are noted on the stabling form; however exhibitors must note the following:

§  Stables are provided WITHOUT bedding. Only wood shavings can be used as bedding. You may bring your own or purchase from us and have it delivered to your stable.

§  Stables MUST BE LEFT EMPTY. Please remove all shavings and manure from your stables before you leave.

§  If your stables are not left empty, you will be invoiced $30 per stable. Alternatively, you can elect to pay $30 per stable and have someone clean it for you.

§  Due to a limited amount of stables available, Stables will be allocated to Country members first.

§  Tack rooms will only be allocated after all stabling requirements have been filled.

§  Persons using the stabling/camping facilities MUST ensure that all rubbish cleaned up & placed in appropriate bins. It is common courtesy to pick up all manure in the hose bays and aisle areas before you leave so it is clean for the next person to use.

§  Once the stabling has been allocated, tack rooms will be available on a first in first served basis at a cost of $25 per day.

§  NO fires, cooking or smoking in the stable area at any time.

Insurance

All exhibitors, handlers and riders must either be a financial Member of the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc, AHSA or an Affiliate of the AHSA and MUST complete an insurance waiver form. Photocopies of AHSA, or Affiliate AHSA membership must be provided with entries if you are not a member of the Pinto Horse Association of NSW Inc.

OR

Any exhibitor, handler or rider who does not meet one of these conditions must pay an insurance levy of $10.00 in order that insurance cover be provided for that person for the duration of the NSW Pinto State Titles 2012. Non -member insurance waiver must be signed.

Exhibitors should note that any person providing false or misleading information with respect to insurance cover will be held personally liable in the event of a claim. It is also advisable that those persons handling horses during the Show (but not participating in actual events) have insurance cover.

Rules and Regulations for Point Scores

High Point Stallion/Mare/Gelding

The following rules apply:

1. Age halter classes only.

2. Supreme, Champion and Reserve are not counted.

3. Performance classes, dressage, trail and specialty classes are counted.

4. Best Marked, Best Presented, Sporting and Fancy Dress are not counted.

5. One handler and one rider may be nominated for any one horse.

Most Versatile Pinto of Show

One handler and one rider may be nominated for any one horse.

In order to be eligible for this award the horse must compete in at least one event from each of the following categories. You may enter as many events as you wish, however only your two highest placings in each category will count.
