TO APPLY: Please submit the following documents to Mrs Gail Smith, Scholarships Officer, Faculty of by 19 October 2015.

When submitting your application please include in the subject line “PIMS Endeavour Award 2015”.

1.Brief cover letter addressed to Professor David Mee, Head of School, School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering.

2.Your cover letter will briefly include details of your curricular and extracurricular activities in Mining.

3.Copy resume

4.Copy academic transcript from mySI-net.

If successful in the award a small function close to the December graduations will be held where the representative from the company will present a certificate and safety lamp to the winner.

THE PIMS ENDEAVOUR AWARD

(Established in 2008 and maintained by an annual gift from Pacific International Mining Solutions (PIMS) to foster a year 4 mining engineering student who has demonstrated the highest commitment to their studies.)

(a) Head, School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering after consultation with Head, Division of Mining Engineering and Program Leader, Division of Mining Engineering.

(b)(i) Final year students undertaking the Bachelor of Engineering program or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Program in any field within the mining engineering discipline.

(ii) is graduating in the year of the award.

(c) Most outstanding student who has demonstrated the greatest involvement in both curricular and extracurricular activities in mining as evidenced by a brief cover letter, resume and verified by the Head.

(d) (i) An engraved miners’ flame safety lamp; and
(ii) $600.
