TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS AND RULES.

The tournament will be played over 36 holes under PGA Rules, the Rules of Golf as laid down by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and any local rules specially prepared for the event.The format will be 36-hole championship, professional only in morning in 3 balls; in the afternoon 18 Pro Am better ball play in fours lunch to be taken at mid-day.

  1. The event is open to all professional golfers who hold membership of Northamptonshire Professional Golfers Association in the season in which the event takes place. Should a player leave the county/club or resign their membership during the season they will forfeit their right to play.
  1. Entry Fee will be decided by the organising committee and be paid by all competitors in advance of play, the player returning the lowest total over 36 holes will be the winner and declared the Northamptonshire Professional Golfers Association Stroke Play Champion and hold the trophy for one year.

A prize of £75 is payable to the best Trainee and senior golfer over 36 holes provided four players are in each category enter.

Afternoon Pro Am better ball

This will be a better ball medal off the white tees – (weather conditions to be assessed).

Maximum handicap for amateurs to 18 – 90% stroke allowance

It will be possible for professionals to play only in the afternoon event.

A buffet lunch will be served prior to the afternoon play.

Potential prize fund available for approximately is £600.

Professionals to receive cash amateurs prize vouchers.

Top four teams- based on 20 teams

1st 40% = £240 = £120 each

2nd 30% = £180 = £90 each

3rd 20% = £120 = £60 each

4th 10% = £60 = £30 each

  1. In the event of a tie.

a)In the event of a tie a sudden-death stroke play will take place starting at the first hole if possible or on holes decided by the organising committee to decide the Winner.

b)All players finishing in equal positions will share the prize money available.

c)A separate prize will be awarded to the best trainee golfer over 36 holes. This will be dependent on a minimum number of 3 entries playing in the competition.

  1. Tee times will be published on Bluegolf as soon after the draw has been taken on the 21st September.

Lateness on the Tee

Scorecards will be collected from the starter for each round. Ensure you arrive at least 5 minutes before your tee time.

Where the Professional is late on the tee a penalty of two strokes shall be applied if they are ready to play within 5 minutes of the allotted start time, if after 5 minutes the player is not ready then they will be disqualified.

Play will only commence play once the professional and his playing partner or marker are present.

  1. Bad Weather

Should the event be dealt bad weather the result may be reduced to a number in which all players have completed said numberof holes or be rearranged at a different day and time.

  1. Absence due to illness/injury exceptional circumstance. If a professional is not able to play and must withdraw due to illness/injury or other exceptional circumstance and noticeis given well in advanceof thetournament or next round takingplace the Tournament Controller will deal with this situation in a manner as equitable as possible, having regard to the interest of all competitors. He shall, if he considers it fair and reasonable, be permitted to adjust the starting times to accommodate play continuing.If notice is not given within 7 days of the event the player will forfeit their entry fee.
  1. Rulings

If there is any doubt regarding a rule during play, competitors should call a referee when available, if a referee is not available competitors should operate the second ball rule (Rule 3-3) and refer the incident at the end of the round to the referee for a decision.

All final decisions and rulings will be at the discretion of the Tournament Committee for the event.
