Job Title: Residential Care Manager

Job Purpose: To be ‘Registered Manager’ for one of our CQC Registered ‘Accommodation with care and support services’ for Adults with Learning and Physical Disabilities.

Job Location: Residential Care home at any of our sites across North Tyneside or Newcastle.

Line Managed by: Head of Adult Residential Services

Responsible to: Head of Adult Residential Services

Grade: Point 30 - 36

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES

Quality and Compliance – QA Systems, compliance with legislation, CQC Standards and Local Authority Monitoring requirements. This responsibility will be across all of our registered homes

Health and Wellbeing – Personalised assessment, care planning and review systems and the monitoring and auditing of these. Ensuring quality of care, promoting health and encouraging social interaction, meaningful activity and community involvement. This responsibility will be across all of our registered homes.

Operational Management of the home, maintaining safe, effective care and support and a safe, comfortable physical environment.

Recording, monitoring and resolution of complaints, incidents and safeguarding issues with the home.

To provide accurate and timely management information to the Head of Adult Residential Services, including financial, salary, sickness/ attendance and other key performance indicators.

To participate in recruitment, selection and induction of staff in line with Foundation policy and procedure.

To monitor staffing levels and ensure that staff receive a good standard of supervision, support, appraisals, training and development.

Line management of the Senior Residential Care Officers and other staff as appropriate.

To be responsible for all aspects of health and safety, Risk assessment, fire safety, Environmental Health, food hygiene, Infection Control, COSHH, Accident and RIDDOR reports

To ensure the repair and maintenance of all equipment within the home and of the home itself

To ensure a high standard of domestic and catering services including line management of staff involved with this provision where appropriate.

To liaise with Day Services, Health and Social Care professionals, residents families and friends and other stakeholders.

PROFESSIONAL DUTIES

·  Provide access to a range of learning material using a range of modes of communication to best meet the needs of individuals

·  Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of individuals

·  Participate in meetings arranged for any purposes described above

·  Participate in development and review of the Foundation’s documentation inclusive of policies, practice, syllabus, curriculum, recording and other documents

·  Participate in arrangements for the appraisal of performance

·  Participate in arrangements for further training and professional development

·  Keep up to date with changes or developments within your profession

·  Fully participate in the induction and training programme provided by the Foundation

·  Participate in administrative and organisational tasks relating to individuals, as required throughout the day

·  Participate in meetings which relate to the curriculum, administration or organisation

·  Contribute to the professional development of other staff, including the induction of new staff

Discipline, Health and Safety:
