Although our office is based in South Portland, MYAN works statewide to ensure youth are aware of, informed about, and taking action on critical issues that affect them, including tobacco and substance abuse prevention, health promotion and other areas of positive community change.

Part Time Training Facilitator
This position requires you to:
  • Develop and facilitate trainings to middle and high school youth and adult partners,
  • Provide coaching to middle and high school youth and adults on community change projects,
  • Research and create resource materials,
  • Assist with the design and facilitation of our year long youth leadership development program, MYAN’s Maine Youth Leaders Alliance, and
  • Work as part of the MYAN team to plan and implement our Youth Leadership Summit, contribute to MYAN’s website and social media initiatives, participate in outreach activities, and assist with other programming as needed.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in an education or a human services related field or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years experience and demonstrated ability in group training and facilitation to both middle and high school youth and adult audiences of various sizes. We are looking for someone to join our team who will bring experience with project management, including program development, implementation and assessment. Our ideal candidate will also have an understanding of theories and practices of positive youth development, youth-adult partnership, group development, and advocacy. This person will have experience planning events, a sense of humor, excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, a strong work ethic and enthusiasm. Candidate must be willing and able to work both in an office-based setting, but also with regular statewide travel and some overnights for trainings, youth retreats and events. A good driving record and access to reliable transportation are required.
Pay range is competitive and is based on experience and education.
