Today’s Worship Plan

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “...Whoever sows sparingly will also reap also sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”… Please notice the offering box in the entranceway; where we cheerfully place our offerings in the collection box. Your contributions to God help us preach the Gospel here in Cedar Key, around the world and carry out works of benevolence to the glory of Christ our Lord.

Welcome Visitors and Members! We hope that your experience today will add something meaningful to your life in Christ Jesus. If you are new to the area and would like more information about this church, let us know. If you are just visiting our island community, then we hope to see you again. Would you like to confess your faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins today? Come forward during the last song and we will assist you in obeying Christ as Lord – or let us know your desire some other time. We can arrange a time for your baptism into Christ. If you are a Christian and wandered away from home with the Lord, you may make your desire known and we will pray for God to forgive your sins, and fully restore you to Jesus Christ and joyful fellowship with other Christians.

Share the Good News! Free Bible studies and much more are available at our congregation’s web site Cedar Key Church of Christ. We also have the church’s weekly Bulletin on our web site.

We had such a super session with our beloved Sunflower ABC English and Bible School in Slavyansk, Ukraine on Friday at 08.00 our time and 15.00 their time. (3 PM) We helped them learn some Bible topics in English. This was the younger group of kids and they are amazing in the way they work hard to learn difficult English words about the Bible. They will even be learning the books of the New Testament in English! Huge thanks to Anna their teacher andAlbert Bagdasaryanthe local preacher for their cooperation today and always!

Thank you Laura Robinson - for your faithfulness in teaching our children during Sunday School. Even when you come prepared for a roomful and there are only two - you still patiently teach them about the love of God in our dear Savior Jesus Christ. Of course we thank parents who bring their children to the Lord at the earliest age.

We plan to greet children for Trick or Treat on the porch of the church house at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on October 31.

If you want to participate, please donate candies by October 30th, so our girls from Laura’s class will have time to make a small bag for each child.

* We have church Fellowship meal after worship today. Please plan to come and share the blessings. After meal we will have short Mens meeting to discuss business. While ladies

Bible question: Was there a garden in the place where they crucified Jesus? (John 19)

Give Roses Now - While They Bloom!

(Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus) “So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.” (John 19:38-42 esp. 40 ESV)

Our lives are full of paradoxes that may often cause us to pause about boldly making the correct moral and spiritual choices. Compare the acts done for Jesus referred to as “The Roses of Bethany” (Mark 14:3-9); and “The Lilies of Arimathea” in today’s text of John 19.

The point of our lesson today is to encourage us to do a deed of loving-kindness today. Tomorrow may never come when we can honor a special loved one who means so much to us, or to a stranger who is all alone and needing encouragement. This is not a judgment of anyone since we are not qualified for that. By comparing some examples from God’s word, let us learn today to give to the Lord without thinking about how much it will cost to replace what we give to the One who died to set us free from sin and death.

(Mark 14:44-45, Mathew 27:19) A disciple of Jesus became a betrayer and turned over Jesus with a kiss – while Pilate’s wife attempted to warn her husband about Christ.

(Matthew 26:56, Mark 15:39) Disciples were running for their lives while a Roman centurion confessed to be a believer.

(John 18:10, Luke 23:34) Peter draws his sword against enemies of Christ whereas Jesus prays for his enemies.

Closed eyes can't see the red roses,
Cold hands can't hold them, you know,
Breath that is stilled cannot gather
The odors that sweet from them blow,
Death, with a peace beyond dreaming,
Its children of earth doth endow;
Life is the time we can help them,
So give them the flowers now!
