The employment requirement demands a committed attitude to sports coaching, and the ability to work with young children from the ages of 5 to 14 years. You need to be a strong motivator, tolerant, and have a good sense of humour. You will also need a great deal of stamina to get yourself successfully through a week's work. Sports School life is certainly not boring, but it is extremely tiring! Your normal day (if any!) begins at 9.00am and finishes at 4.30pm.
During the day there are three breaks, but you are required to fulfil your part of the supervision rota.
In addition to the standard day, you will be required on some occasions to assist with the early morning supervision from 8.30am, or late afternoon supervision up until 5.15pm.
At the end of every day there is a tidy-up and debrief of the day’s activities.
Clock-watchers are strongly advised not to apply for positions at Sports School.
We will supply you with a staff polo shirt , but we expect you to provide your own navy blue (preferred) shorts or tracksuit legs.
Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee employment of all sports leaders until our courses have been filled, and in some cases this can be at the last moment. We will offer employment to some people as soon as it is possible, and then establish a waiting list of potential employees to take up any later offers. In the meanwhile do not hesitate to accept alternative offers of employment, but please do inform us if you wish to withdraw your application.
