Graduate Research Associate, Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program (MEDTAPP) Project, The Ohio State University| Columbus, Ohio

MEDTAPP is a workforce development initiative to train social workers to provide behavioral health care in an integrated primary care setting.

Responsibilities: Assist in conducting ongoing research related to integrating behavioral health care providers in medical settings. Activities include: survey design and administration, focus group facilitation and analysis, conducting in-depth literature reviews, and assisting in the development of research studies related to integrated care.

2012-Present

Research Consultant, Moms2B,Nationwide Children’s Hospital & The Ohio State University | Columbus, Ohio

This program is an interdisciplinary university-community collaboration designed to address the social determinants of maternal and child health, and promote positive pregnancy outcomes.

Responsibilities: Assist in data collection and analysis, collaborate with team members to demonstrate programmatic outcomes, work with low-income women to decrease infant mortality.

The CAYCI Institute is a youth development program addressing health, mental health, and social service needs for at-risk children.

Responsibilities: Facilitated focus groups and analyzed qualitative data. Collected and analyzed survey data. Synthesized research and findings into translatable research briefs.

The Kirwan Institute is an interdisciplinary research organization seeking to identify and address sources of social inequity.

Responsibilities: Created research briefs, project proposals, and presentations on multiple issues related to structural racism and oppression.Worked collaboratively writing book chapters, journal articles, short reports, and other publications on issues related to educational inequity. Presented at conferences, to classes within the university, and to community groups. Wrote and managed grant-funded projects.
