NZYKC Jumpers Rules

Clubs are allowed to nominate one class per set of standard classes to double up as a NZYKC class. This will either be a Jumpers C class (preferred) or in the absence of a Jumpers C class a Starters class can be used.

NZYKC only competitors will run their dogs after the standard competitors have run. NZYKC competitors who are also running in the standard class will run in the allocated order on the call sheet. They will only run once but their run will count towards both the standard class placings and the NZYKC placings.

NZYKC only competitors will be allowed to run any grade dog in the NZYKC class.

A dog will be allowed to run the course twice, this may be once with the standard handler in the standard class and once with a NZYKC handler in the NZYKC class or twice in the NZYKC class with two different handlers. No dog may run more than twice on the same course.

No NZYKC handler may enter more than two dogs in a NZYKC class. If they are entering more than two dogs in the standard class they must clearly state on the entry form which dog(s) are being entered in the NZYKC class.

The entry fee will be $3 per class at both Ribbon trials and Championship Events.

If the competitor is already paying the entry fee for the standard class they will not have to pay an additional $3 to enter the NZYKC class.

NZYKC takes $2 per entry regardless of whether or not the handler is running in just the NZYKC class or both the NZYKC class and the Jumpers C class.

Only NZYKC members may enter. There will be entry forms available on the day for children to join but membership must be paid before they are allowed to enter a class.

Entries for the NZYKC class at Championship Events will close at the same time as the other standard classes unless the club chooses to take entries on the day.

Ribbons and prizes will be given in two age categories; “11 and Under” and “12 and Over.”

The NZYKC will provide ribbons for 1st to 3rd placings at all events and ribbons and a $5 voucher for 1st place at Championship events. As entries increase we will provide ribbons to 5th and prizes to 3rd but only when entries are big enough to cover the ribbons and prizes. The voucher will be redeemed by sending it to the NZKC office. Clubs may provide additional prizes and/or ribbons if they wish. The NZYKC will also provide Clear Round Certificates to Event Secretaries.

There are no levies on NZYKC only entries.

Points from the handler’s twenty best runs over the year will be used to calculate an overall annual winner and runner up in each age category. Points will be awarded as follows; 1st place-3points, 2nd place-2 points, 3rd place-1 point, clear round-1 point. So a win on a clear round will earn 4 points.

Points will be accumulated by the handler regardless of which dog they won them with.

Any club wishing to run an NZYKC class needs to contact Nevenka Paterson preferably at least a month before the event so that a pack containing ribbons, Clear Round Certificates, NZYKC membership forms, a results sheet, a SAE and a voucher if applicable, may be sent. Any unused items along with a completed results sheet will need to be returned to Nevenka.
