Rev. John William ("Bill") Houran (SPRINGFIELD-CAPE GIRARDEAU, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1953) writes that he is enjoying retirement to the absolute fullest and that he is eagerly awaiting the delivery of his new powered wheel chair.
Msgr. Thomas Duffy (WASHINGTON, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1954) retired, is now chaplain at SibleyMemorialHospital in Washington, DC.
Rev. David M. Murphy (ROCHESTER, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1954) has produced over 150 television shows in the "Search for Meaning" series on the Newton, MA cable access station.
Rev.Joseph L. Byrne (HELENA, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1955) is recovering from a five-way coronary bypass while still serving as pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Townsend,MT.
Most Rev. Anthony Milone (GREAT FALLS-BILLINGS, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1958) became Bishop Emeritus upon his resignation on July 12, 2006.
Rev. William J. McCarthy, MSA (NORWICH, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1960) has authored ten books on the following topics:
The eucharist at the center of John Paul II's Pastoral Plan; Catholic Compendium of Inner Healing; Mary in the Church today; the Our Father; The Holy Spirit in the writings of Pope John Paul II; personal relationship with Jesus; God Bless America; Listening to God; the joy of being Catholic; and a walk through the new Catechism. Rev. Thomas R. Flynn (HELENA, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1962) has published A Very Short Introduction to Existentialism, a paperback from Oxford University Press.
Msgr. John B. Dewane (GREEN BAY, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1963) is currently on staff at the Casa Santa Maria and volunteers to be a capo for the Diocese of Green Bay.
Dr. John Krejci (SEMINARY CLASS OF 1963) is enjoying retirement in Lincoln, Nebraska and writing for five peace and social justice newsletters.

Msgr. Michael E. Servinsky (ALTOONA-JOHNSTOWN, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1971) was named Vicar-General of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown on December 6, 2006.
Msgr. Otto Garcia (BROOKLYN, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1973, CASA CLASS OF 1979) writes: "After almost 29 years in the diocesan curia of Brooklyn as Chancellor, Vicar General, Moderator of the Curia, was finally entrusted with a great parish in the Borough of Queens - Saint Joan of Arc, JacksonHeights."

New Ulm (his previous diocese) on April 24, 2007
Msgr. Kevin T. McMahon (WILMINGTON, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1975) will leave his present assignment where he occupies the John Cardinal Krol Chair of Moral Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia and assume duties as the Episcopal Vicar for Moral and Religious Matters Pertaining to Health Care and Biotechnology in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Msgr. McMahon will reside at the rectory of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis in pastoral work at the Cathedral parish as his duties as Episcopal Vicar permit. Effective July 1, 2007.
Rev. John Mericantante (PALM BEACH, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1975) reports that his parish has two-thirds of the money needed to build a new $3,000,000 church for Mexican and Hispanic migrants. They are adding 2,700 square feet to their existing free clinic.
Msgr. W. Michael Mulvey (AUSTIN, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1975) became the Vicar General of the Diocese of Austin on February 19, 2007.

Ordained a priest for the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana on June 29, 1975.
Appointed Bishop of Lake Charles, Louisiana on March 6, 2007. Bishop Provost succeeds Bishop Edward K.
Braxton, who was transferred to Belleville in 2005.
Ordained Bishop on April 23, 2007; principal Consecrator: Archbishop Alfred Hughes (NEW ORLEANS,
SEMINARY CLASS OF 1958, CASA CLASS OF 1961); Principal Co-Consecrators: Bishop Jude Speyer,
Bishop-emeritus of the Diocese of Lake Charles and Charles Jarrell, Bishop ofthe Diocese of Lafayette.
Rev. Thomas J. Sas (HARTFORD, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1975) was in July 2006, appointed Director of the Office of Ministry Enrichment. He is also priest in residence at St. Peter Claver Church in West Hartford, CT. He writes that he is recovering from a stroke and celebrates Mass and gives short homilies.
Rev. James R. Murphy (ST. PAUL-MINNEAPOLIS, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1977) writes from his home in Phoenix where he takes care of his ninety-year-old mother, and nephew with three babies. He teaches in the Phoenix high school system and on July 7, 2007 will celebrate his 30th anniversary of ordination and 70th birthday.
Rev. Patrick J. Dolan (LOUISVILLE, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1978) will be three months in Iraq serving the troops in Baghdad during the Easter Season.
Msgr. Joseph P. Calise (BROOKLYN, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1980) was appointed Papal Chamberlain in March, with the title of Monsignor.
Rev. Thomas Mischler (GARY, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1981) has concluded a four-month sabbatical that coincided with his 25th anniversary of ordination. His sabbatical included independent study of Black Catholic History at St. Meinrad, IN, and Xavier Univ. in New Orleans. His travels included a trip to the Great Barrier Reef and the Outback of Australia. He made two retreats. The Sabbatical was funded by a Grant from Eli Lilly Endowment, Clergy Renewal Program.

Studied at the Angelicum from 1980 to 1984, obtaining a Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology.
Elevated to Episcopacy on November 25, 1997 as Auxiliary Bishop of Diocese of Sacramento.
Ordained titular bishop of Bapara on January 28, 1998.
Appointed Bishop of Monterey in California on December 19, 2006.
Installed Bishop of Monterey in California on January 30, 2007.
Rev. Edward Schaefer (BELLEVILLE, CASA CLASS OF 1984) is NFPC Provincial Representative and a Member of the Board of Consultors.
Rev. Joseph Barbieri, CP (ORIGINALLY OF TORONTO, CANADA, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1987) is now a professed religious with the Passionists and living in the Passionist Convent in Manduria, Italy.
Rev. Gregory Gordon (LAS VEGAS, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1987) writes that he and his congregation completed the work of building their "San Damiano Parish Center" in HendersonNV. Bishop Joseph A. Pepe (SEMINARY CLASS OF 1976) dedicated the edifice and consecrated the altar on April 10. The new parish of St. Francis of Assisi was erected in December 2003 with Fr. Gordon as founding pastor. On May 1, 2007 Fr. Gordon begins a new assignment in Washington, DC; he was appointed secretary in the nunciature by the Most Rev. Pietro Sambi, DD, Apostolic Nuncio.
Rev. Thomas Knoblach (ST. CLOUD, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1987) will in June 2007, become pastor of a three-parish cluster in Metro St. Cloud, while remaining Ethics Consultant for the diocese.
Msgr. Joseph R. Giandurco (NEW YORK, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1987, CASA CLASS OF 1994) was named Chaplain to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on March 4, 2006 and was named pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Suffern, NY on July1, 2006.

Ordained a priest of the diocese of Green Bay on July 16, 1988.
Appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Venice, Florida on April 25, 2006.
Ordained a bishop on July 25, 2006 by Bishop John Joseph Nevins and Principal Co-Consecrators Archbishop John Clement Favalora and Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.
Succeeded Bishop John Nevins and became the second bishop of the Diocese of Venice in Florida on January 19, 2007. Bishop Dewane's motto:"Justitia, Pax, Gaudium" recalls over fifteen years of work for peace and justice.
Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer (PALM BEACH, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1988) as President of Human Life International, Fr. Euteneuer has traveled over 700,000 miles, surpassing the record of Pope John Paul II!
Rev. Patrick A. Schumacher (BISMARCK, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1993) is now an Adjunct Professor of Theology at the Benedictine University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota
Very Rev. Leo A. Walsh (ANCHORAGE, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1994) was recently appointed Vicar General of Diocese of Anchorage and will be returning to Rome in September 2007 to finish the STD.
Rev. David Sizemore (COLUMBUS, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1996) was recently named pastor of St. John Neumann Parish and chaplain of a local university.
Rev. Tom Powers (BRIDGEPORT, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1997) is an adjunct spiritual director at NAC and in his second year of service at the Congregation for Bishops at the Vatican.
Msgr. Patrick Dempsey (WASHINGTON, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1997) was named a Chaplain to His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, on January 10, 2007.
Rev. Jason Gray (PEORIA, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1997) earned his J.C.L. from CatholicUniversity in 2006.
Rev. Mark David Knestout (WASHINGTON, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1997) was recently named Associate Director of the Archdiocese of Washington Office of Worship.
Rev. Joseph Betschart (PORTLAND IN OREGON, SEMINARY CLASS OF 1999) will become the Formation Director of the Pontifical North American College, beginning in August 2007.
Very Rev. C. Michael Padazinski (SAN FRANCISCO, CASA CLASS OF 1999) was recently appointed Chancellor of the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
Rev. Steven Bird (PEORIA, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2000) became pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Kewanee on January 3, 2007. Included in his work is Hispanic ministry; he celebrates a Spanish language Mass each Sunday.
Rev. Michael Colello (PROVIDENCE, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2001) was appointed Administrative Secretary to Bishop Thomas J. Tobin (SEMINARY CLASS OF 1973).
Rev. Den Irwin (MOBILE, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2001) writes that he is now the administrator of Christ the King Parish in Andalusia, while remaining associate pastor of St. Columba.
Rev. Luke Sweeney (NEW YORK, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2001) was recently appointed Vocation Director for the Archdiocese of New York at St. Joseph Seminary.
Rev. Bradley Pelzel (SIOUX CITY, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2002) becomes the Vocation Director of Sioux City on July 1, 2007.
Rev. Dennis Yurochko (PITTSBURGH, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2002) is now the Director of Apostolic Life at the NAC and will pursue doctoral studies in dogma at the PontificalGregorianUniversity.
Rev. Tait Schroeder (MADISON, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2002) was named Vicar for Permanent Deacons in November 2006.
Rev.James P. Shea (BISMARCK, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2002) writes that he has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Killdeer, North Dakota although he has never killed a deer.
Rev. Brian Stitt (OGDENSBURG, SEMINARY CLASS OF 2003) was recently named Bishop's Secretary, part-time parochial vicar at St. Mary's Cathedral and Associate Vocation Director.
