New Modules in Digication Tutorial

The new Modules consist of the following Categories:

  1. College Connections - To help students document and reflect on their campus and community experiences to enhance their college learning.
  2. Educational Planning – To help students develop their academic, career and transfer plans that best fit their skills, strengths and values, the College has developed an interactive system of modules covering self-analysis, goal setting, and skills, strengths, and values-setting.
  3. Google Doc- a seamless interface with Google doc. Google doc users can have their Google docs embedded in their ePortfolio pages. Follow Steps 1, 2 and 3 in the module and you're all set.
  1. Equation Editor – Allows users to add content in the form of LaTeX, MathML, and AsciiMath notations.

Using the New Modules in Digication

When using the new modules, make sure you are in the edit mode since most of the new features and option are only visible in the edit mode.

  1. If you want to use the Educational Planning module, for example, just follow these simple steps:

  1. To insert content, make sure you’re in the Edit Mode since the promptsare only visible in the edit mode. See for example,“Managing My Time” module located in the “College Connection” section (See Images 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3)

  1. Some of the new modules have features where you get to choose one or more of the available options that are available in the edit mode, like in the “My Skills” Module located in the “Educational Planning” section(See images 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6)

  1. There is also a new module where you can link a “Google Doc” to your e-Portfolio which adds a whole new dimension to the way content is shared in your e-Portfolio. Follow steps 1-3 in the edit mode of the module to add the google doc to your e-Portfolio and instead of having to upload a version whenever you make a change, just modify the google doc and the changes are already applied to the page in your e-Portfolio. (See image 1.7, 1.8, 1.9)

  1. A new “Equation” module is now available for users to include formatted mathematical equations in their e-Portoflios. With this new module users can add content in the form of LaTeX, MathML, and AsciiMath notations, which will be displayed as equations on the page once it’s published. (See image 1.10)

  1. Users can add the “Equation” module as they would a rich text or gallery module; by selecting “Add a Module” and then selecting the “Equation” module from the list. After selecting the “Equation” module, click the “Add this Module” button. (See image 1.11)

  1. When editing the equation module, the “Preview” will show users how the equation will look once it’s published after the closing tag ($) has been applied. (See Image 1.12)

  1. Once finished make sure to “Save” and “Publish” the Module. (See images 1.13 and 1.14)
