Schedule & Age DIVISIONS:

Age Divisions / Distance / Time – races will be run according to this time schedule
8 & under (born 2005+) / 2K (1.24 miles) / Girls/Boys – 9:00 a.m.
9-10 (born 2003-2004) / 3K (1.86 miles) / Girls – 9:30 a.m.
Boys – 10:00 a.m.
11-12 (born 2001-2002) / 3K (1.86 miles) / Girls –10:30 a.m.
Boys –11: 00 a.m.
13-14 (born 1999-2000) / 4K (2.48 miles) / Girls –11:30 a.m.
Boys –Noon
15-16 (born 1997-1998) / 5K (3.1 miles) / Girls/Boys –12:30 p.m.
17-18 (born 1995-1996) / 5K (3.1 miles) / Girls/Boys – 12:30 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements:

Individuals: Current 2013 USATF membership is required to compete. Proof of birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license or U.S. government identification) is required and must be submitted prior to registration and participation. Teams: Only registered 2013 USATF member clubs may enter a team. All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with that club as part of their 2013 USATF membership. To enter a team, a club must complete the team entry/declaration process during online registration. Only athletes listed on the team declaration roster will be eligible to represent the club at the regional and/or national championships.

TEAM SCORING: 8 athletes on the team entry/declaration form may be declared as scoring athletes. The top 5 finishers among the declared runners will score.

ADVANCEMENT TO NATIONALS:

The USATF NationalChampionships will be held on Saturday, December 14th at the same course! The top 30 athletes and 5 teams at the Region 16 Championships will qualify for the national championships. All athletes that qualify for the USATF National Championships must complete, pay for and submit their entry online.For online entries visit the calendar section at coachoregistration.com.

ENTRY FEES & DEADLINES:

Registration:Must be completed by November 20, 2013 at noon

ONLY ONLINE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Individual Entries:$15.00 per athlete. Teams won’t have an additional cost; each athlete competing unattached or for a team will have a $15 entry fee.

PAYMENTS: The online entry system accepts VISA and electronic checks only.

COMPETITION BIB NUMBERS: All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers during competition, chest-high on the front of their jerseys. Chips must be worn on the runners’ shoe.

PACKET PICK UP: Registration packets with bibs, chips, and meet information will be available Friday, November 22ndat the meet’sheadquarters hotel, Hyatt Hill Country Resort, from 5 p.m. -9 p.m. and November 23rdbeginning at 7:00 a.m.at the registration table by the starting line of the course.

MEET HEADQUARTERS HOTEL: The Hyatt Hill Country Resort will be the headquarters for this meet. They are offering a special $99 rate for participants and their families. Contact the hotel directly at

EVENT RESULTS: During competition, event results will be posted by the finish line once they are completed. An awards ceremony for each age group will occur approximately 45 minutes after each race in the awards area. Event results will be posted on the USATF-South Texas website.

AWARDS: USATF Junior Olympic medals will be awarded to the top twenty individuals in each age division. The top two teams from each age division will receive awards.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING: Follow the signs once you arrive at the intersection of Culebra and Gass Road. Parking is free.

JUNIOR OLYMPIC PARTICIPANT WAIVER FORM:

All athletes who participate in the USATF Junior Olympic Program must complete the Participant Waiver & Release Form. This form is already integrated in the online entry system. After completing the registration process, you can return to the online entry main menu and select “print waiver” to sign and turn in at the regional championship. All forms must be collected and passed on to the next level of the Junior Olympic Series.
