Notice of Race

  1. RULES

1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) including the Prescriptions and Special Regulations of Australian Sailing and the National 125 Association (Inc.) Constitution and the Class rules.

1.2. Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.

1.3.Competitors’ attention is directed to the requirements of A.S. Special Regulations Part 2, Regulation 5.01 (Personal Flotation Devices).

  1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

2.1.Entry is open to all helm persons and crew who are financial members of a club affiliated with the Australian Sailing & the National 125 Association (WA Division Inc.) and possess a Silver Card Number.

2.2.The regatta is open to all boats currently registered with the National 125 Association (WA Division Inc.).

2.3. The hull and equipment shall hold a valid Measurement Certificate.

2.4. Eligible boats may enter by completing the online registration form located at the above weblink.

2.5No change to the nominated helm person is permitted. If the helm person does change, then new points will be award to that helm person. Changing of crew will be permitted in writing at least one hour before any heat.

2.6 Online entry for all three heats must be completed before the first event on 9 September 2018. Entries for individual heats need to be completed before each individual heat commences.

Cost for registration:

All heats:$50.00 for all 3 heats

Individual heats: $20.00 per heat

  1. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS & COURSES

5.1You are sailing under the host club Sailing Instructions that will be available upon request. Courses will be available to all entrants by the host clubon the morning of the event.

5.2Briefing

A competitor’s briefingwill be held at the discretion of the host clubs before each heat.

6. PROTESTS

A boat intending to protest shall notify the host club at the time of finishing the heat, unless there are exceptional circumstances as determined by the Race Committee.

7. REGATTA SITE

The regatta site will be explained at the host club’s briefing.

8. RACING AREA

Racing will be conducted on the host club’s waters.

9.SCORING

9.1The Low Point Scoring system as per Appendix A of the RRS will apply.

9.2Three (3)heats are scheduled and a minimum of two(2) races are required to be completed toconstitute theRob Webb Traveller’s Series.

10.TROPHIES AND PRIZES

Trophies will be awarded to Helm person and Crew as follows:Overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

11.DISCLAIMER

11.1All those taking part in the Rob Webb Traveller’s Series do so at their own risk.

11.2The National 125 Association (WA Division Inc.) and any sponsor and any other party involved in the organisation of the event disclaims any and every responsibility for any loss, damage injury to persons and things, both ashore and on the water, as a consequence of participation in any way in theheats covered by this Notice of Race.

11.3Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10 million for any one incident. By taking part in a race or event, owners are deemed to have made a declaration that they have such cover.

12.RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

A boat shall neither make radio transmission while racing nor receive any radio communication not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

13.PARENTAL/GUARDIAN CONSENT

For all entrants who are under 18 years of age at any time during the event, the declaration form with parental consent must be completed and submitted.

14.PHOTOGRAPHY and VIDEO RECORDING

All competitors should be aware that photography and video recording may take place and may be placed in the public domain, including its use for future advertising material.
