B.  The Mystery of the Kingdom

1. The Wayside Hearer (Matt. 13:19 AMP; Mk 4:15 AMP)

a. This is the only scenario where Satan was able to take away the word by force! This is the result of not understanding the word. (Mk. 4:24-25 AMP)

2. The Stony Heart Hearer (Mk. 4:16-17 AMP)

a. Chinese Bamboo Tree – is the fastest growing plant on Earth; it has been measured surging skyward as fast as 48 inches in a 24hour period, and can reach maximal growth rate exceeding 39 in. per hour for short periods of time. Many prehistoric bamboos exceeded heights of 250ft. Unlike other trees, all bamboo has the potential to grow to full height and girth in a single growing season of 3-4 months. Trees can grow as much 90 ft. in one year.

3. Sown Among Thorns Hearer (Mk. 4:18-19 AMP)

a. The cares and anxieties of the world are not necessarily sinful or bad things, but can be “good” things that become distractions to receiving the Word.

4. Good Ground Hearer (Luke 8:15 AMP)

a. The most notable characteristic of the good ground is that it has less. Less stones and thorns and therefore there is no mention of cares, anxieties, emotions or Satan.
