I.  Basic Information

1.  Project Title : Vocational Development Program for Women

2.  Duration : 01 November ~ 19 November, 2010

3.  Host Country : Republic of Korea

4.  Host Organization : Ministry of Gender Equality & Family (MOGEF)

5.  Number of Participants : 3 persons per country

6.  Nomination Closing Date : 31 August, 2010

Please send the application documents including application form and medical certificate to International Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Gender Equality & Family (MOGEF) of Republic of Korea by the date mentioned above. Any country which decides not to send participants to the training program is recommended to inform the decision to the International Cooperation Division of MOGEF as soon as possible.

II.  Project Description

1.  Background

Vocational development for women is essential to improve women’s social and economic status by developing stable and suitable vocational fields for women. Accordingly, this program aims to strengthen vocational competencies for women by designing vocational development model suitable for women. Also, it provides an opportunity to promote awareness of women’s employment as well as capacity designing and implementing available programs by experiencing Korean advanced policies for women.

2. Project Objectives

This program is designed to promote perception and execution competencies of policy makers related to vocational development for women to strengthen women‘s social and economic status.

This project will present Korea’s successful vocational policies and case studies to participants in order to provide implications and to enhance competence for establishment of their national-customized model related to vocational development for women.

The program is also expected to build continuing policy networks and to establish standardized system for consulting demand in each country for women’s vocational development.

3. Scope, Methodology and Subjects

(a) Scope

-  Understanding of women’s vocational development and Korea’s government policies in related fields

-  Designing programs for vocational development in each country.

(b) Methodology

-  The training program includes general lectures by module, country report presentation for the better mutual understanding, field experiences and practices for designing and simulating vocational development programs on the workshop.

(c) Subjects

-  The program consists of six modules under the principle of conceptual direction and process designing; introduction of Korea’s vocational development policies for women, in-depth study on Korea’s successful vocational development model, methodology for vocational development, case studies, field works and workshops.

* The modules may be modified to maximize the effects of the training program.

4. Recommended Qualification

Female government officials, managers and researchers of public/private institutions related to women’s vocational development

(a)  Academic Background:

-  BA degree or equivalent experience in the relevant field

(b)  Current Occupation:

-  Mid-level government officials of women’s vocational development-related division, experts such as researchers or leaders of public/private institutions in relevant fields

(c)  Linguistic Ability:

-  Reasonable command of both written and spoken English

(d)  Condition of Health:

-  Applicants are expected to be mentally and physically healthy enough to manage an intensive short-term training program and various field visits.

(e)  Others

-  Applicants with no reasons for disqualification for overseas travel and sojourn

III.  Financial Arrangement

(a)  BY MOGEF of Republic of Korea

i.  All participants will be provided with:

i.1. Round-trip economy class tickets for the most direct route between participant’s country and Korea and Per diem during the project.

i.2. Board and lodging during the project

(b)  By Participating Country

i.  All participants are required to:

i.1. Underwrite a comprehensive insurance effective in Korea for the possible diseases or accidents during the project period. MOGEF does not carry any responsibility for diseases or accidents that take place during the training program.

i.2. Bear extra-expenses generating from using other air route than designated route or by arriving in Korea earlier or later than the official project period due to private matters.

IV.  Request to the Expected Participating Economy

(a)  Each country is expected to select THREE(3) applicants(including at least one government official) meeting the conditions described above.

(b)  MOGEF will accept application form only via the designated office of each economy.

(c)  To participate in the project, please send the documents mentioned below by 31st August, 2010.

(d)  Documents to be submitted

i.  Passport size photo and two copies of application form attached with this notification.

ii.  Medical Certificate and Insurance Declaration Form :

ii.1. All participants are required to fill out and submit Medical Certificate and Insurance Declaration/Certification form.

(e)  Please assist selected participants to arrive in Seoul one day prior to the official launch of the project and return home after the project ends.
