SENIOR MARKETING DIRECTOR

POSITION TITLE:Senior Marketing Director(exempt)

DEPARTMENT:Marketing

REPORTS TO:Vice President of Marketing

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for creating, developing and implementing the overall strategic marketing direction in order to meet corporate business and marketing objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES(nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time):

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing plan which strategically impacts core objectives
  • Research sales and traffic trends routinely and address major changes in market
  • Follow corporate policies and procedures for all programs/promotions
  • Implement all programs and events professionally and timely including fulfillment and execution
  • Measure overall impact of local programs on traffic and sales
  • Implementadvertising campaign, upholding and maintaining the brand strategy
  • Negotiate promotional agreements and media added value
  • Maximize promotional dollars through trade-outs

Financial Accountability

  • Create an annual marketing plan and accurately budget income and expenses
  • Allocate marketing funds appropriately to support key goals and objectives
  • Maximize marketing dollars by analyzing ROI on major expenditures
  • Monitor monthly income and expense variances

Retailer Intensification

  • Promote center specific opportunities to retailers
  • Secure retailer offers to enhance sales generating programs
  • Analyze tenant sales reports to identify trends
  • Implement appropriate retailer intensification strategies

Event Marketing

  • Create and implement exciting, unique, traffic building event strategy
  • Manage all aspects of events and entertainment, including advertising and marketing materials, promotional messaging and philanthropic requests

Public and Community Relations

  • Develop and implement programs to establish and maintain favorable community and public relations to enhance the image and position within the community
  • Secure partnerships with key community organizations
  • Keep an up-to-date media contact list and build network of media contacts
  • Get all press materials out to the media in a timely fashion
  • Monitor all local press coverage

Social Media

  • Ability to utilize social and digital media tools for tenant and center promotions
  • Keep informed and adapt tonewly emerging technologies

Tourism

  • Maintain awareness of tourism market
  • Maintain and enhance local travel industry relationships
  • Fulfillment of provided Inquiries/Leads

QUALIFICATIONS(Education and/or Experience): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum offive years of strong marketing, management, event or advertising experience in a related field
  • Working knowledge of the media industry
  • Well developed oral and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others
  • Sound fiscal management and budgeting skills
  • Word, excel and powerpoint skills
  • Social media skills
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings
  • Strong team building
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
