Meeting Minutes from: 5/15/16

The meeting opened with a prayer.

Outstanding Items

We reviewed several of the completed and outstanding items from our previous meeting:

  • Pamphlet to hand out at PP and for the RL bulletin board (Patrice/Alan) – In Process
  • Our Lady of Guadalupe print framed: Alan will contact Kerry by phone with questions-In Process
  • Purchase of Poverty Inc. movie: Completed
  • Talked about showing at St. Mary in a joint venture with the Charity & Justice Commission –In Process - Patrick
  • Connie is considering hosting a viewing at her house – In Process- Connie
  • Baby Bottle Boomerang: Completed - final amount $2,201
  • Mother’s Day Rose Sale: Completed
  • Sale was a success! All roses were gone. The sale total was $1153 (with a $200 donation included). The cost of the roses from Costco was $450.24 and the cost of the sleeves from Chelsea Village Flowers was $108 with a total cost of the sale at $558.24.
  • RLC unanimously agreed to purchase with some of the rose sale proceeds educational materials at the request of Marita Martin. The Theology of the Body for junior high students for $99 and Beyond the Talk (Christopher West cd) for $10.
  • Michigan Respect Life Dinner on April 14th: Completed
  • Abby Johnson was a phenomenal speaker who shared her personal story of managing the PP in Bryan, Texas for several years and then having a life affirming conversion. She is very inspiring. She challenged all who attended to pray for the conversion of hearts, even for Cecile Richards who is the president of PP.

Information/Discussion Items

  • Major Pro-Life Event– Friday, April 29that Christ the King – music by Eric Genuis featured speaker David Daleiden (exposed PP) – Patrice, Eileen shared
  • Music was spectacular (cello, violin, piano, opera singer)
  • David Daleiden who is just 26 years old was amazing and inspiring. He shared his daily prayers for his enemies.

1)Pray for the forgiveness of your enemies.

2)Pray that all the curses cast upon you turn into blessings.

3)Pray that those blessings x 3 return to your enemies.

  • Dropbox Documentary – Mike purchased copy for cart.
  • Marriage Matters Jackson.org – Mike will investigate for future
  • Don shared a few articles with us – the MCC letter to the State Board of Education, a National Review article, “The Grim Reaper, M.D.”, about the assisted suicide, euthanasia slippery slope, and a revised Forming Consciences USCCB document from November 2015.
