All persons baptized with water & the Spirit in the Name of the Trinity are invited to receive the Eucharist. Those who wish to receive only a blessing may cross their arms. It is perfectly acceptable to receive the Eucharist in only one kind (i.e. the Host), and then decline the chalice, crossing your arms.

The first Episcopal services in Fairbanks were held in 1903. The next year, St. Matthew’s Church was built. The original church building burned in 1947, and was replaced with the present St. Matthew’s Church. First service in the new church was Christmas Eve 1948.

JOURNEY to BETHLEHEM ~ Travelers logged 1,617 miles last week, and a total of 3,649 miles so far on this year's Journey. That converts to being half way between Murmansk and Moscow, close to the Finnish border, and over a large Russian lake "Onega."

Prayer Shawls are available upon request. We have yarn for those who knit or crochet. Check out the Health Ministry display cabinet in the Parish Hall.
