Dear Nativity 8th graders,
You are officially invited to participate in the 2014 Variety Show either on stage or behind the scenes in leadership roles. You arealso invited to perform in the 8th Grade Act, which is traditionally the final act of the show. To do any of the above, you must have parent permission to participate and perform in all the 2014 Variety Show activities.
A 2014Variety Show parent permission slip is attached to this email. Please have your parent sign it, and return the slip to Mrs. Burwinkel on or before Wednesday, January 8th(the 1st audition date). This is the staff's way to know you choose to participatein the Show on stage and will accept the Variety Show Jobs and responsibilities as designated byMr. Beiting.
Also attached is a list of the many jobs and responsibilities related to the show. Please read them over and decide on which you might like to work. Mr. Beiting will be working out your assignments and discussing them with you very soon. You may not work on the show without a parent permission slip, so please bring them in so we may start working on the Show with you.
Here are the adult staff members that you will be working with:
Anything that happens on stage – Mr. Beiting
Any technical work – Mr. Arbogast
Any artistic work - Mrs. Elfers
Any organizational behind the scenes work – Mrs. Burwinkel
Mrs. Ciarniello and Mr. Herring also serve in administrational roles.
If you choose not to participate in the Variety Show, a note to Mrs. Burwinkel telling her that you are not participatingby January 8th, would be very helpful. Also, if you have any conflicts with the Variety Show or rehearsal dates and times, be sure to inform and discuss them with the Staff ASAP. If you agree to take a job or a role on stage, it's your responsibility to the Show to be sure it's met. Speak with the staff and we can work with you.
There is an important meeting about the show for your parent on Monday, February 3rdat 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Be sure mom/dad marks it on the calendar to come. Advance ticket order forms will be available and payment will be accepted at that meeting. Eighth grade ticket orders get first consideration. If you want your parents and relatives to have good seats, be sure the order forms are in early. (Don’t forget them in your backpack!)
We know this year’s Show will be great and we are especially looking forward to working with you. February 21st – 23rd will come sooner than you think!
Sincerely,
The 2014 Variety Show Staff
