PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
EVERYONE is welcome to enter work in this show. However, in order to be adjudicated with the intention of advancing to the provincial level, you must:
· be an amateur artist (not make your primary income from your art work)
· be a resident of Saskatchewan
· follow the requirements of Category A (below)
CATEGORY A:
· Must submit 5 framed works ready to hang
· Must pay an entry fee of $20 by MAY 15, 2015
Category B includes ‘professional’ artists, out-of-province artists and any other artists who do not enter the adjudicated competition. These artists will follow the requirements of category B (below).
CATEGORY B:
· May submit up to 5 pieces
· May be framed
· Must pay an entry fee of $15 by MAY 15, 2015
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST :
☼Attach labels to the backs of submitted art work (labels are on bottom portion of the entry form)
☼Submit entry form (enclosed)
☼Make cheque for $15 or $20 payable to: LANGENBURG ARTS COUNCIL

Our Adjudicator: VAL MOKER
Val Moker is a recipient of the Best New Artist Award at the Calgary Stampede’s, Western Art Showcase, the Peoples’ Choice Award at the Canadian Portrait Academy, and has followed up with other citations including the Will Rogers Medallion Award from the Academy of Western Artists in Oklahoma. Val’s work was accepted as a finalist in New Tang Dynasty Television’s, 4th International Figure Painting Competition 2014, from a selection of 160 paintings submitted by 100 artists from 16 countries around the world.
Moker’s paintings have appeared in venues ranging from Cowboys & Indians Magazine and Kennedy Publications’, Best of Worldwide Oil Book, to Hollywood’s Motion Picture and Television Fund - Golden Boot Awards. She has completed commissions extending from the Kidney Foundation of Canada and Englishman’s Boy Productions, to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in the United States. Her work is included in numerous collections including the Shurniak Art Gallery and the University of Regina, President’s Art Collection.
Val has degrees in education and arts from the University of Saskatchewan. In addition to her work as a professional artist, she has taught art in the education system and has created art & culture lesson plans for Learning Through the Arts, a structured curriculum development program of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

THE AJUDICATION PROCESS
From approximately a dozen adjudications across Saskatchewan, artists are chosen to compete provincially. At the provincial adjudication two or three exhibitions are chosen to tour the province for two years.
Artists are welcome to enter as many adjudications as they want around the province. It is beneficial to artists to receive critiques from as many professional artists as possible.
Artists are NOT eligible to enter the adjudication for competition if their work is currently touring provincially with an OSAC solo, duo or trio exhibition. They must wait two years following the completion of their tour to enter the Provincial Exhibition. Artists may enter their work for competition if it is in a provincial group show of four people or more.
If you work in a variety of media, choose five works of one medium to enter for competition as five pieces will show your proficiency in that particular medium. It is also a good idea to have them framed similarly so that the five works appear as one unit of work.
