Facility: The Clear Creek F.A.C. pool is an 8-lane, 25 yard indoor pool with competitor non-turbulent lane lines, a Daktronic Automatic Timing System with and eight (8)-Line scoreboard and Hy-Tek Meet Manager software. The pool depth at the shallow end is 4ft and the depth at the deep end is 11ft. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4). Copy of such certification is on file with USA swimming. There is poolside, bleacher seating available for 210 parents and spectators, including handicap seating. Team areas are setup in the gym. Each team is asked to respectfully monitor their area and keep it clean.

There is no outside food or coolers allowed into Clear Creek Family Activity Center. A full service Concession area is available.

·  Food and Drinks are not permitted in the gym

·  Drinks are permitted on the pool-deck

·  Swimmers may eat in the concession area, between the pool and gym

·  No Glass is permitted on the pool-deck

·  Swimmers are not permitted in the weight room or on the running track

·  Smoking or Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the Clear Creek Family Activity Center.

Rules: The meet will be conducted as a Timed Final Meet in accordance with the current USA Swimming codes, except where rules therein are optional and exceptions are herein stated. FINA starting procedures will be used. The FINA system, approved by USA Swimming, uses a series of whistles followed by a one-whistle announcement for the swimmers. The No Recall Start Rule will be enforced during this meet. The use of “Fly-Over starts” will be at the discretion of the Meet Referee.

Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member–coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

The use of audio or visual recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Such devices being used in thee restricted areas will be subject to confiscation.

Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited.

Safety: Warm-ups; Entry will be from the scoreboard end of the pool. All entries during warm-ups are feet first only, no diving from the blocks. Coaches must maintain contact with their swimmers during warm-ups.

Warm-up/Cool-down lane, during sessions 1, 2 and 3, Entry is feet first only, no diving and from the shallow end only.

Swimmers with a Disability: Entries for swimmers with a disability should be handled in the following manner:

(1) enter the swimmer in the Hy-Tek database (or on the regular entry form);

(2) list in the email accompanying the Hy-Tek entry file (or on a separate sheet of paper) the name of the swimmer, the stroke(s)/distance(s) s/he wishes to swim, the entry times, the day/session s/he wishes to swim the events(s), and the manner in which s/he prefers to be seeded (with a longer distance or with a different age group); and

(3) provide any information about special accommodations needed by the swimmer.

The final determination of seeding will be made by the Meet Referee after consultation with the swimmer and his/her coach.

FORMAT:

The meet host reserves the right to adjust sessions and event order if needed for meet management purposes.

Timed finals meet for all aged swimmers with events of 200 yards or less will be pre-seeded.

Any event 400 yards or longer will be deck seeded. These events may be limited to a minimum of three (3) heats per event. At the discretion of the Administrative Referee, additional heats in all or one age group may be added to offset a lack of entries in another age group or if time permits.

WARM-UP STARTING TIMES

When all entries have been received a timeline will be run and warm-up times may be adjusted – Teams will be notified by e-mail ASAP of any changes.

SATURDAY MORNING SESSION:

Warm-ups: 8:00 a.m. Meet starts: 9:00 a.m. SATURDAY AFTERNOON SESSION

Warm-ups: 1:30 p.m. Meet starts 2:30 p.m.
SUNDAY MORNING SESSION:

Warm-ups: 7:00 a.m. Meet starts 8:00 a.m.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON SESSION

Warm-ups: 12:00 noon Meet starts 1:00 p.m.

AWARDS

Every heat winner will place their name into the “winners” pool and at the end of each session male and female names will be drawn and awarded a special award, sponsored by Speedo.

ELGIBILITY

According to USA Swimming Article 202.4.5 Both USA Swimming athlete members and non-USA swimming athlete participants may compete in an approved meet. All swimmers must be current USA-registered athletes according to Article 302, to have insurance in place and their times to be valid. Non-USA participants will not have insurance nor will their times be maintained by the USA Swimming national database. The age of the swimmer on December 8, 2012 will determine the age group for this meet. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer of the swimmer's legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement

ENTRY LIMITATION

All swimmers may compete in five individual events per day. The meet host reserves the right to reduce this limit for meet management purposes in needed.

$5.00 Commlink entry; $6.00 written entry per individual event; $5.00 per swimmer Facility Fee

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

Swimmers are required to check in with the Clerk of Course for events 400 yards and longer, 30 minutes before the beginning of the session in which the event is to be swum. No other events need to be checked in.

DECK ENTRIES

Deck entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Administrative Referee. Only events with open lanes will be filled. NO heats will be added. Deck entries will cost $5.00.

SCRATCH PROCEDURE

Report scratches to the Clerk of Course. There will not be a penalty for no-shows, but the event will count as an event swum. Swimmers may not scratch on deck to Deck enter into another event.

ENTRY DEADLINE

The entry deadline is Monday, October 27, 2014, with changes or corrections accepted through Monday, November 10, 2014

Any Team wishing to enter electronically may do so by sending the following: 3-1/2 inch disk or CD ROM with a Hytek Commlink File of the team’s entry and a printout of the entries from the Commlink file sent.

COACHES MEETING

There will be a coaches meeting 15 minutes before the start of the Saturday Morning Session. All coaches, on arrival for each session, must show his/her USA coach’s Card for admittance and in order to receive the teams coach packet. Any swimmer attending the meet without a coach should report to the Meet Referee to be assigned a coach for warm-up.

WAIVER: In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I/we hereby, for myself/ourselves, my/our heirs, administrators, assignees, and swimmers waive and release any and all claims against United States Swimming (USS), the Kentucky Swim Association of USAS, the Family Activties Center of Shelby County Parks and the Lakeside Swim Team and their staff, for injuries and/or expense incurred by me/us at the meet or while on the road to and from the meet.

In granting this approval it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
