QUALIFICATIONS

Three letters of recommendation shall be submitted as a part of the application. Such letters shall be concise descriptions of good management such as fiscal improvement of food service operation, positive acceptance of food by population served, improvements/innovations in feeding operation, coordination with general management, continuous improvement of food service and other qualifications listed below.

  1. United States Citizen
  2. Lives, works or is attending graduate school in New York State
  3. Female
  4. Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  5. Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration
  6. Has, or is pursuing a masters degree in food service management or related field.
  7. Dedicated to high professional standards of food service administration
  8. Continues to demonstrate leadership abilities by establishing and/or participating in innovative approaches to food service management
  9. Teaches others about administration of quality food service
  10. Considered a role model in food service management
  11. Considered a motivating force for others to follow her lead and, thus upgrade their food service management knowledge and skills
  12. Evidence of participation in professional associations including networks with related professionals

APPLICATION AND SELECTION

  1. All nominations must be submitted via email by February 1.
  2. Only nominations received by the deadline date will be considered.
  3. Nomination packets should include:
  4. application,
  5. three letters of which document qualifying conditions,
  6. documentation demonstrating the nominee’s eligibility for the award, and
  7. a current resume/curriculum vitae.
  8. Selection will be based on the completed application packet and the established criteria for the award. If packet is incomplete, the nomination will NOT be considered.

  1. Once the NYSAND Awards Committee has selected the award winner, notification will be sent to the awardee and the originator of the application.
  2. Those applications which were not selected will be returned to the originator.
