Fraud Testing: Integrating Fraud Detection into Your Audit Program

The Alaska Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors is proud to present a two-day seminar on Fraud Testing: Integrating Fraud Detection into Your Audit Program – In this two-day seminar, attendeeswill learn how to integrate fraud detection into an audit program and identify key red flags of fraud scenarios. We will focus on preparing fraud risk assessments for core business systems and building fraud audit procedures. We will cover the methodologies used by fraud auditors and focus on the red flags that signal the need for an investigation. You will learn how to implement and develop audit procedures that will increase the likelihood of discovering fraud, including fraud data mining. Throughout this seminar, case studies and class exercises will further illustrate how to integrate fraud detection into your audit program and reinforce proper fraud detection methodologies. At the conclusion of the seminar, attendees will be able to prepare a fraud risk assessment and integrate fraud audit procedures into your audit program.

INSTRUCTOR: Leonard Vona – MIS Training Institute

Leonard W. Vona is the Chief Executive Officer of Fraud Auditing, Inc. He has more than 30 years of diversified auditing and forensic accounting experience, including a distinguished 18-year private industry career. His firm advises clients in areas of litigation support, financial investigations, fraud prevention and income taxes. Mr. Vona has successfully conducted more than 100 financial investigations for some of the largest high-profile corporations in the United States. The net result of his efforts has saved clients millions of dollars through recovery or defense strategies. His financial investigation experience includes embezzlement, economic damage, asset theft, bribery, intellectual property, and various disbursement schemes. Mr. Vona’s trial experience is extensive, including appearances in federal and state courts. He is qualified as an expert witness, and has been cited in West Law for the successful use of circumstantial evidence, and the author of Wiley Publishing's Fraud Risk Assessment: Building a Fraud Audit Program and The Fraud Audit: Responding to the Risk of Fraud in Core Business Systems.

SEMINAR COST

Total cost, including sixteen hours of CPE, a continental breakfast and lunch is $200 for members; $300 for non-members.
