The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is a Southeast Regional Golf Tour and that was founded with the intention of providing junior golfers both boys and girls between the ages of 10 to18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The junior tour caters to four divisions: boys and girls 15-18 as well as boys and girls 11-14. Our vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one.Over the past five seasons, the tour has grown exponentially and has become one of the premier choices when it comes to junior golf in the Southeast. Since being founded in 2008 the tour has grown from 300 members and 25 events to over 2,400 members and 64 events up to ourpast 2012 season. Due to the exponential growth, HJGT will be expanding to 5 new states: Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. With this expansion, the Tour has also been fortunate enough to embody many characteristics not normally seen in the junior golf industry. These characteristics range from corporate sponsorship deals and top tier golf course selection to an influential stake in the golfing community.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour offers a well-rounded internship for ambitious individuals looking to develop a wide variety of business skills. Marketing interns will be actively involved with all aspects of the tour from sales and marketing to sponsorships and website designunder the supervision of HJGT staff members. The marketing internship will require minimum travel if any.Interns will spend majority of their time in the office preparing for upcoming tournaments and auditing past tournaments. Normal office hours are 8:30am-5pm, sometimes longer depending on the goals set at the beginning of the day.   • Pre and post tournament press releases
  • Constant website updates
  • Sales and marketing of tour and upcoming tournaments
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube)
  • Tour promotions
  • Create weekly tournament videos for YouTube upload
  • Sponsorship strategies
  • Partnership contributions
  • Contract negotiation
  • Product purchasing
  • Revenue building

Qualifications:

  • Marketing experience (preferred)
  • Interest for the sport of golf (preferred)
  • Great organizational skills
  • Ability to handle an aggressive environment and work schedule
  • Working towards bachelor degree
  • Needs the internship for college credit
  • Willingness to work 45-50 hours per week
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Self motivated and hard-working
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Monthly Stipend and Housing:

HJGT interns will receive a monthly stipend. Interns will also be provided with fully furnished housing in the vibrant part of Jacksonville, Florida that is 100% paid for by HJGT. The following items will be provided by the HJGT:

-Bedding

-Furniture

-Washer and Dryer

-Appliances (stove and microwave)

College Credit:

Students will be able to use the HJGT internship for college credit. Your institution will decide the amount of credits.

Career Enrichment:

There are several benefits that come from participating in the HJGT internship from hands on experience to possible employment with HJGT upon completing the internship. Interns will work closely with tournament directors and staff in the office. Interns will be a vital part of the organization and will be given daily tasks that have a significant impact on the organization. You will learn how to interact with people, work between departments, and problem solve in a fast paced environment.
